Pros: Reasonable price and quality. I said reasonable, note great.
Cons: Somewhat more cheaply made than my older 4gb cruzer, and seems to be somewhat slow. Lots of plastic where you'd expect metal shield. It will be interesting to see how it holds up over time.
Overall Review: I thought it was a tremendous deal until I got it in my hands. Now that I see how it's been cheapened I think it's a reasonable - not not stellar - deal. Sandisk used to mean the best. Now I wonder if I shouldn't have just bought the cheapest one of whatever brand since that's what (apparently ) Sandisk makes now.
Newegg underpacks / kills another hard drive
Pros: I bought two of these, and the one that arrived functioning is nice. Quiet and reasonably fast for the $$ spent (purchased before the Thailand hard drive factory flooding / price hikes). Unfortunately the other arrived DOA. Given the way it was packed, nobody should be surprised.
Cons: One of the two drives I ordered arrived DOA, whic isn't a surprise considering the minimal protection that was arround it. Make sure you test it out within the 30 day window for a return. If you wait to use it for a couple of months as I did, you'll have to work with WD on an RMA instead. That takes time and costs $$ for shipping.
Overall Review: A hard drive should be in a shipper designed for hard drives (foam or plastic cushions at both ends of the drive, and packed in a sturdy oversized box), or if not that, it should have TWO INCHES of solid foam or QUALITY bubble wrap on all sides. If your drive comes packed in anything less than that, it's not the manufacturer's fault when it is DOA. One layer of wimpy half-popped bubble wrap just won't cut it to ship a bulk OEM hard drive. I've never seen a drive shipped this way anywhere else.
Not sure it's working
Pros: nice size, not too heavy, significant stated capacity
Cons: I am just not sure this thing is working right. The lights light up, and the phone says it is charging, but it loses ground on the actual charge amount.
Overall Review: I think this might be going back. I am just not sure it's doing anything. Looking for some battery meter apps and will watch it a few days, but suspect it just isn't working. I have an older 6600 mAH that is awesome, but this one not so much. Pity, because I was really looking forward to it.
Another DOA hard drive
Pros: None. Drive arrived dead.
Cons: Drive arrived dead
Overall Review: Can't blame Western Digital. The packaging was inadequate. One small box and a little bubble wrap is not enough to protect a hard drive. If they would just stop trying to skimp on the packaging they'd have far less problems with DOA drives.
Batteries? Seriously?
Pros: Compact, basic software onboard. Tape is reasonably priced compared to some brands. It's a nice little unit but somebody didn't think through the power source very well.
Cons: Runs on batteries! This is just stupid. It has to have a USB cable connected to run because there's no display or keyboard on it. So why doesn't it take the power from the USB cable too? It could be smaller and lighter if it got the power from USB instead of batteries. And the batteries are an expense.that should have been avoided. Money down the drain and more heavy metals in the landfill. Brilliant (kidding)! Would be five stars otherwise.
Great value / good stylus
Pros: Very happy with these, especially for the price.
Cons: Overall they are great. No real cons, but see my other thought for possible suggestions to improve them. Shipping a bit slow but was free, so no worries there.
Overall Review: Could be excellent if they were a tiny bit longer, and had a bit of lanyard or something attached to help keep them nearby.
