Rosewill Data Hub for 5.25" Drive Bays- 2 USB 3.0 Ports and Main Connector, Four USB 2.0 Ports, eSATA, Internal Six Slot Media Card Reader, Supports Windows ME/2000/XP/Vista/7/8/10 - RDCR-11004

Pros: I bought this because I wanted USB 3.0 ports in the front of my case. When I saw that this has 2 USB 3.0 ports,4 USB 2.0 ports and several different kinds of SD card readers, it seemed like a great solution. I don't plan on using the eSATA port since USB 3.0 should do the job fine and all of my SATA ports are currently full.

Cons: Within 10 minutes of opening this product, the USB 3.0 header plug broke. The blue thing detached from the plug and got stuck in the USB 3.0 header port, revealing the wires. Luckily the wires were stiff and I was able to carefully insert them back into the blue thing. However I had to take the blue thing out with pliers to double check that I was inserting everything the right way, which damaged the blue thing a little. If I want to use this in a future build now, it may be difficult to unplug the USB 3.0 header plug. I considered RMAing this but I have already installed the product in my case and I've zip tied all the cables, so I think I'll just keep it. I tested all 6 USB ports by transferring a large file to my USB flash drive, and one of the USB 3.0 ports is not working well. The file transfer completes in the background, but the actual file transfer in Windows Explorer freezes and the flash drive becomes frozen in Windows Explorer until you unplug it. Interestingly they have the 4 USB 2.0 ports and the SD card readers all on 1 USB 2.0 header. This could possibly lead to file transfer speed bottleneck issues if you plug in a lot of devices.

Overall Review: I'll give this product 2 stars. So far it mostly works and I like that they crammed so many ports into one 5 1/4" device. However the two issues I had with the device (see above in cons) are annoying and could be solved with a better manufacturing and quality control process. I hope that Newegg/Rosewill fixes these issues. I want to be able to order Rosewill-brand parts in the future without associating them with manufacturing defects and RMA's. This is not the only Rosewill item in today's shipment that had problems. I am having to RMA my other Rosewill item. That makes the brand 0 for 2 so far. Please fix these quality issues, even if it means raising the price of Rosewill products slightly. I'll pay the extra money in exchange for avoiding hassle, disappointment, and RMA's.
