awesome card

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD 24-bit 192KHz PCI Express x1 Interface Sound Card powered by THX TruStudio Pro
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD 24-bit 192KHz PCI Express x1 Interface Sound Card powered by THX TruStudio Pro

Pros: Wanted to wait a while after buying this card to give a good review. Bought this card as a shell shocker for $115, and I will say this was a steal. Super easy installation. Remove case panel, slap onto motherboard, boot PC, install drivers, enjoy. I have no idea what these people are talking about as far as driver issues go. I downloaded straight from website and this thing was working in no time. I tested the card out on my simple 2.1 speaker setup and it was PUSHING those speakers like i've never seen before. The audio was crystal clear at all volumes...and then I realized I wasn't giving my card a fair shot by pairing them with 30 dollar speakers. I am by no means an audiophile, but this card continues to stun me in games, movies and music. Worth every penny.

Cons: If you don't have quality headphones or speakers, this card will remind you of that. If you're going to get this card, I HIGHLY recommend having THX quality speakers or a headset that is upwards of the 100 dollar range to experience what this card can do. I enjoy this card very much because I use it mainly for movies and games in analog / 2.0 + 2.1 setups...for those that want to use this as a preface to 5.1 or 7.1 setups or connect it to an audio reciever I can't give an opinion on that. For what I use this with...it does an outstanding job.

hmmm

Klipsch Black IMAGE S4 3.5mm Connector In-Ear Headphone
Klipsch Black IMAGE S4 3.5mm Connector In-Ear Headphone

Pros: I have had these headphones for a year now and I feel like I can finally write a decent review on these. *Different earbuds for ear sizes, tough and durable wires (compared to most that are braided), and great sound with crisp highs and a deep bass. The sound only gets better after 'burning in' a few hours after opening!

Cons: If you are getting these for working out...I would probably say look elsewhere. While these things are tough enough to be toted around everywhere...if ANY moisture or sweat gets on the rubber earbuds they just pop out of your ear. I've tried every single ear bud size (which actually affects the sound quality btw...u need the larger ones for the bass response) and it doesn't help!!! I spend more time shoving these things into my ear canal in anger than I do enjoying the sound when working out.

Overall Review: For the money I paid, and the use that I've put them through...I would gladly step down to the next tier of headphones and sacrifice some sound quality for function during athletic activities...plantronics makes a pretty sweet pair.

awesome headset

Razer Tiamat 2.2 Analog Gaming Headset
Razer Tiamat 2.2 Analog Gaming Headset

Pros: Wanted to wait a while after purchasing before I wrote this. First, to the guy in the reviews somewhat below that said this headset doesn't pack any punch...get educated. This is an ANALOG headset...not USB...therefore if you want to experience the bass...you need to be connected to a QUALITY soundcard (not onboard) that can AMPLIFY and PUSH these headphones. Seriously. This thing has FOUR x 40 mm drivers inside and you think that your onboard sound is gonna push these things in games? No. Do not expect the results other people have been getting if you buy this headset without a dedicated soundcard. Some may get lucky with onboard audio depending on the build of your motherboard. If you want hard thumping bass you can tweak the equalizers so that this headset cleanly reproduces explosions or bass heavy music. Also, this headset is seriously the most comfortable headset I've ever worn. Coming from corsair vengeance and plantronics gaming headsets, these things can stay on your head for hours with minor adjustments. For the amount of hardware inside, these things are extremely light. Also, matte black finish is a WIN...no glossy headset with scratches and fingerprints...this is everything you want in an analog headset. Crystal clear mic for use in ventrilo, it really is awesome.

Cons: To get the bass just right it does require tweaking with soundcard equalizer or presets. If you don't touch them, your music and games will either have too much bass or none at all. Get comfortable with the software on your PC because you will need to mess with it to get these things to sound right.

Overall Review: Worth the 99 bucks I paid for them. Wouldn't have chosen any other brand in this price range. I did alot of research before purchasing these...and this had everything I wanted and more than the other manufacturers were offering.

wow

Logitech Z623 400 Watt Home Speaker System, 2.1 Speaker System - Black
Logitech Z623 400 Watt Home Speaker System, 2.1 Speaker System - Black

Pros: I am blown away by these speakers. I was using Logitech's LS21 for the longest time (only 7 watts) because I'm a really frugal person by nature and didn't think I needed anything more. However, I was really dissapointed by the bass output of the last system so I went out on a limb and bought this because of the reviews and WOW was I impressed. These speakers pack some serious punch...my music really comes alive and there is a clear seperation from the highs and the bass. Say goodbye to muddy distorted bass, and buy this system! This is the best bang for your buck in this price range and combined with a sound card you'll be left scratching your head wondering why you didn't purchase this sooner. This also has a matte black finish so say goodbye to dust and fingerprints sticking to it.

Cons: The subwoofer is huge...hopefully you have adequate space for it. Ummm also this speaker setup is not neighbor friendly. The sound footprint easily goes through walls and halfway across my house even at low settings...I often find myself turning the sound down so low that noise only comes out the right speaker and turning down the bass so my family can sleep at night...this thing has some serious power....make sure this is what you really want before buying.

Overall Review: So far I'm in love with this setup, music is crystal clear and I couldn't ask for anything better in my room. This thing will easily bring your music and movies to life, and can easily host a house party. If you live in a small room or are surrounded by neighbors with paper thin walls, this may be more than you need.

great monitor

HP 2711x Black 27" Full HD LED BackLight LCD Monitor Slim Design 250 cd/m2 DC 3,000,000:1 (1,000:1)
HP 2711x Black 27" Full HD LED BackLight LCD Monitor Slim Design 250 cd/m2 DC 3,000,000:1 (1,000:1)

Pros: *Super low energy consumption *Doesn't get HOT like 90% of the LCD monitors i've owned *5 presets to easily switch picture quality with the push of a button on the front (movies, reading text, gaming, etc) *Extremely lightweight...with a super flexible bracket *Beautiful color reproduction

Cons: *Some of the presets might need a little adjusting...some video games that I play don't really look nice with the 'gaming' profile...too sharp, hard lines, too bright with over animated crispiness and such. *Glossy black finish means dust and fingerprints all over the place...if you're a wanted criminal don't touch it.

Overall Review: Overall a great monitor that I'm very happy with. I would not pay full retail for this. It's about $399 right now...I bought mine with a shell shocker deal for $279...and I think that's a great price point for it.

Cons: None.
