Powerhouse!

Intel Core i7-4820K - Core i7 4th Gen Ivy Bridge-E Quad-Core 3.7GHz (Turbo 3.9GHz) LGA 2011 130W Desktop Processor - BX80633i74820K
Intel Core i7-4820K - Core i7 4th Gen Ivy Bridge-E Quad-Core 3.7GHz (Turbo 3.9GHz) LGA 2011 130W Desktop Processor - BX80633i74820K

Pros: This processor is incredibly powerful. I was in between a 4770k and this when i was researching. I am sold on the 2011 socket. Overclocking has been a dream with this cpu. 4.4ghz on air cooling with a max. temp of 52c. This processor downclocks when not using full power effectively saving on electricity. This cpu will cost you more in the long run with its higher tdp but opens me up to a hexacore upgrade without switching mobos. I have had no issue playing games at max settings with programs running in the background. A true multitasker.

Cons: Plain and simply the power draw. If you plan on basing a rig around this cpu then you need to invest in a high quality power supply and aftermarket cooler.

Great Motherboard

ASUS X79 DELUXE LGA 2011 Intel X79 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS X79 DELUXE LGA 2011 Intel X79 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: This board comes with all of the bells and whistles. It has an ample number of usb and sata ports. Like all x79 boards it supports 64gb of dual or quad channel ddr3 ram across 8 dimm slots. Set up for tri sli or 3 way crossfire. comes with lots and lots of accessories to connect all sorts of peripherals and extra drives. Bios is incredibly easy to use and overclocking is pretty much made idiot proof.

Cons: price. can be somewhat complicated to setup if you are a first time builder.

Overall Review: Besides the price it is a killer board with lots and lots of features. Chances are if you are using a cpu with a 2011 socket then price wasn't an issue for you to start with.
