Excellent PSU for average+ users

Antec Basiq BP350 350W ATX12V v2.01 Power Supply - Intel Haswell Fully Compatible
Antec Basiq BP350 350W ATX12V v2.01 Power Supply - Intel Haswell Fully Compatible

Pros: Cheap & reliable Fits almost all computers due to its ATX standard

Cons: Check the amount of connectors your going to need prior to looking at this unit. It has enough for the average user

Overall Review: I have purchased multiples of these 350W Antec units over the years and for 90% of my jobs or applications it has been perfect. The main thing I find with most situations id that the power supply is overkill and especially with the newer components drawing less & less power you dont need a 1000W PSU! One of the most handy things I ever purchased was a WattMeter to measure the draw on any particular machine. It opened my eyes to what was actually needed as a power supply for most machines. Of course if your running heavy configurations of things like graphics cards, this unit wont hold up but for a configuration of a mainboard, ram & basic cpu with an SSD and a hard drive, this is perfect!

OK at best

ASUS H81M-K LGA 1150 Intel H81 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 uATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS H81M-K LGA 1150 Intel H81 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 uATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Good if your a grandma that was just introduced to computers and likes to play solitaire......and refuses to learn email or internet!

Cons: As mentioned in other reviews the integrated network is FLAKY. You see reviews and provided it isnt every review, bite the bullet and take a chance to get a good one especially with a cheaper product. But I bought 2 of these and both have the same issue so as others have done, so Ive splashed out and bought 2 PCIe NICs at 15 bucks a piece.....

Overall Review: Yes, the network here is fine. When these boards have the network issue, other pcs are fine. So I figure that at my very reasonable rate of $60/hr troubleshooting and technical fees, ASUS owe me about 150 bucks! Please send me a check in the mail. Im not interested in your text book monkey replies I see all over this site. Good thing this hardware is now OUT of STOCK. Maybe Newegg took a hint.......

Good basic camera

Foscam FI8910W IP Camera - 2 Pack
Foscam FI8910W IP Camera - 2 Pack

Pros: motorized PTZ capability IR Wireless & Wired Decent length power cable Great GUI Compatible with iSpy freeware application decent mounting bracket with good range of motion

Cons: Resolution is dated IR doesnt throw very far

Overall Review: I purchased this through another company (sorry newegg) for financial reasons but wanted to leave a review here because I shop at new egg fairly regularly + this doesn't have a review. I run a dedicated box for video security with the freeware iSpy application. This camera is used for outdoor surveillance through a window and is my first "IP" camera (using USB webcams until now) It actually has a listing direct in the application and was very simple to setup the basics. This camera has all the features I needed and logging on was as easy as punching in the IP address and entering the generic password. There are most probably more options for this unit that a normal person needs but its straight forward. Surprisingly (because of my past experiences with wifi devices) wireless was a sinch to setup and it even came with a retractable ethernet cable! The only downsides of this particular unit are the resolution, a max of 640x480. Really should be discontinued and the infra-red distance is minimal but ok for a average sized room....just not outdoors. My next purchase would be a HD version of this type of model and maybe an outdoor specific version depending on application. But overall, I'm happy with this device and it will surely go to use for something else when eventually replaced. If this unit is anything to go by the other models would also rate high depending on specifications.

It works!

TP-Link 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express, PCIE Network Adapter / Network Card / Ethernet Card for PC, Win10 supported (TG-3468)

Pros: plug and play auto driver installation on windows 7 cheapish

Cons: none could have been cheaper

Overall Review: great alternative for when your onboard ethernet fails or just plain doesnt work because the manufacturer didnt get it right the first time (as with my case)

Super Screen

BenQ GL2460HM 24" Full HD 1920 x 1080 60Hz VGA DVI HDMI Eye-Care Technology Built-in Speakers LCD LED Gaming Monitor
BenQ GL2460HM 24" Full HD 1920 x 1080 60Hz VGA DVI HDMI Eye-Care Technology Built-in Speakers LCD LED Gaming Monitor

Pros: great widescreen size thinnish bezel good average menu options for the average guy / gal the 3 main inputs any one needs has built in speakers good price! brightness is good (maybe too good, see below)

Cons: speakers are on the lower sounding side of things, but if you want gaming sound or production levels sounds, your going to have something aftermarket anyways. These are good for the warning dings & dongs from windows or the occasional facebook or youtube clip.

Overall Review: Bought 2 of these to replace some small screens in the office on 2 machines. These certainly didnt disappoint and in fact on one of the machines replaced a dual monitor setup. By using the windows feature of stacking windows it duly compensates with the 24 inch widescreen size. After setting the 1st one up I found that dropping the brightness considerably gave a better viewing experience. Maybe its because im in a lower light environment but the brightness was overkill originally. Now its at a nice custom level, which was also implemented on the other screen.

Nice Solid Board!

ASRock Z77 Extreme4 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
ASRock Z77 Extreme4 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: This is a good solid board for the price as most ASRock boards are. It was used for almost 1 year in a media center environment 24/7 before being upgraded and moved to another machine (Im a crazy that upgrades frequently!) The main reason for this purchase was the amount of SATA headers available because I have my storage data mirrored and this motherboard certainly met expectations until more was required. So needless to say this is above average for the amount of storage devices one can use. As for the other capabilities of the board, the CPU and memory was plug and play, no worries. The HDMI output was used to output to a TV which was hassle free.

Cons: None. In all my years of building pc's most components do what they say and have more than enough features for the average person.

Overall Review: Receiving an item DOA isnt a reason to give 1 star, it happens.
