Great Product

Ceton InfiniTV 6 PCIe - 5205-DCT06IN-PCIE - Six-tuner Card for Watching Digital Cable TV on the PC, PCI-Express x1 Interface
Ceton InfiniTV 6 PCIe - 5205-DCT06IN-PCIE - Six-tuner Card for Watching Digital Cable TV on the PC, PCI-Express x1 Interface

Pros: I bought this and replaced 5 dvr boxes for my house. Instead of the $80 per month I now only pay the card rental. HD is nice and clear, and even the SD channels are good, no distortion to them.

Cons: If you are using Windows 8/8.1 WMC for your tuner, it only supports 4 tuners. There isn't the drivers yet for the tuner extender for Windows 8/8.1. If you are looking to have it connected to every PC instantly you'll have to wait if you use Win 8/8.1. I'm fine with having to wait as I don't have enough extenders right now anyway. Also as stated in other review you don't have any of the OnDemand including the free OnDemand that is included if you have the movie channels etc.

Overall Review: I would recommend this, and sadly for me I bought mine before Cyber Monday when it was $50 off. It is well worth the money. If you are looking at doing just a single PC, for now I wouldn't recommend over the 4 tuner card as that's all Windows Media Center can support.

Ordered 4, 4 DOA

0B25662 600GB 10000RPM SAS 2.5Inch Hitachi Hard Drive

Pros: They were physically there

Cons: DOA

Overall Review: order 4, 4 were DOA. Delayed a project, found some 300GB for same price new, on the online retailer that started as only books.

Neat concept, still on the fence

Seagate Momentus 7200.4 ST9250410ASG 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 2.5" Internal Notebook Hard Drive with G-Force Protection Bare Drive
Seagate Momentus 7200.4 ST9250410ASG 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 2.5" Internal Notebook Hard Drive with G-Force Protection Bare Drive

Pros: So far it seems to run well. I'm testing it in a little supermicro atom server box. It's running server 2k8R2 with SQL and Sharepoint server 2010(way too much for atom I know but it does good for testing/logging enviroment). I had a standard drive in before, and I've noticed considerable improvement in load times of sharepoint(most used app). This took about 2-3 days to notice the difference. Also in resource manager you can tell when it's reading from the SSD it goes from showing 10Mbps to up over 200.

Cons: The way that everything is written to the drive then mirrored onto the SSD for read back purposes only makes it slightly slower than it could have potential for. Still is faster than standard drive after time. If you never do the same thing on your computer, or are constantly creating/writing to the drive you won't notice any speed improvement other than moving from a 5400 rpm to a 7200 rpm drive.

Overall Review: I've never had good luck with seagate's in the past, however I'm giving this one a try and time will tell if the drive can hold up. The read speed of the drive is very nice if you are doing the same thing over and over. It is very noticeable.

SUPERMICRO SYS-5015A-H 1U Intel Atom 330 Dual-Core 1.6GHz Dual Gigabit LAN Server Barebone
SUPERMICRO SYS-5015A-H 1U Intel Atom 330 Dual-Core 1.6GHz Dual Gigabit LAN Server Barebone

Pros: Small, quiet low power consumption as many others have said. Dual-core + HyperThreading allows for slightly better performance on windows. passive cooling is quiet, and fairly effective.

Cons: Expansion slot/riser slot is not very friendly for use, also wish that it came with either a riser card, or the 2.5" HDD bracket. 2 gig of ram limiting, but not the end of the world.

Overall Review: I own two of them currently, one is being used as my pfsense firewall/router and the other is running Server 2k3 with MySQL, Apache, and Sharepoint. It is pretty snappy, and boot time is pretty low for only 2 gigs of ram. All in all it works great for what I use it for. Handles sharepoint nicely. Looking at buying a few more after the new year.

D-Link DWL-3200AP 802.11b/g Managed Access Point up to 108Mbps/ Plenum-rated Metal Chassis/ PoE Support

Pros: Easy setup, installed into a school system and setup to use WPA-Ent to authenticate on AD. Simple web inerface as well as the AP managment tool is great for deployment.

Cons: Have to telnet in to turn on snmp response.

Overall Review: Other than having to telnet when first powered on so you can use the AP managment tool d-link sends with, quick easy setup along with good range. Also great price and we all know neweggs great server! :)

D-Link DKT-360 Cardbus Network Kit IEEE 802.3/3u, IEEE 802.11b/g, IEEE802.11n Draft 2
D-Link DKT-360 Cardbus Network Kit IEEE 802.3/3u, IEEE 802.11b/g, IEEE802.11n Draft 2

Pros: Great D-Link product. I have only had to restart it once in about two months. Wireless signal is strong.

Cons: Down side to the 802.11N is there is no encryption, even though it's new and very few have the cards, I just don't trust it at that.

Overall Review: Good product and care.
