Works with Linux!

Cisco Small Business ProConnect SVIEW04 4-Station CPU Switch
Cisco Small Business ProConnect SVIEW04 4-Station CPU Switch

Comments: Absolutely a great KVM switch that also works well with Linux. Originally tried a Belkin KVM switch (for a lot more $$$) but it had problems. This unit also comes with an external power supply. A fine KVM switch that I don't think you can go wrong with. I plan to buy several more.

Too Long

Collection LED CL-MR16-4W-W 25 Watts Equivalent 4 Watts MR16 LED Light Bulb
Collection LED CL-MR16-4W-W 25 Watts Equivalent 4 Watts MR16 LED Light Bulb

Pros: Looks well built. Speedy Newegg shipping. Good price on this week's sale.

Cons: Too Long! The bulb is probably 3/8 inch longer than a standard MR16 bulb and did NOT fit in the outdoor 12-volt landscape lighting housing I intended to try it out in. Plugs in the socket fine but the extra length prevents putting the glass lens and ring back on the fixture to make it weatherproof.

Overall Review: I was really excited to find what would have been a great energy efficiency improvement for the total of 7 bulbs I run adding up to 200 watts. I was all set to buy another 6 bulbs if this one looked good and that would have taken me down to 28 watts and provided a pretty quick payback on my electricity savings as these lights run all night on a flagpole and trees. Guess I'll keep looking and pay attention to the dimensions (which were not listed for this bulb) next time. Just trying to be green.

Great Upgrade

Seagate Momentus XT ST95005620AS 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s with NCQ 2.5" Solid State Hybrid Drive Bare Drive
Seagate Momentus XT ST95005620AS 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s with NCQ 2.5" Solid State Hybrid Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Fast - great upgrade for an older PC.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: This is my second SSH drive. I have been so pleased with this drive in an older Asus notebook that I upgraded my wife's desktop system (which had a few year old 3.5" 500 GB drive) with another SSH drive. Bought a SilverStone bay converter from NewEgg to fit in this drive.

Fits Like a Glove

SilverStone SST-SDP08 3.5" to 2x 2.5" Bay Converter (Nickel-coated)
SilverStone SST-SDP08 3.5" to 2x 2.5" Bay Converter (Nickel-coated)

Pros: High quality construction (nickle platted steel). 2.5" notebook drive fit perfectly in the Bay Converter and it fit fine in the 3.5" bay.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: Use a magnetic tip screwdriver to make drive installation easy. I replaced a 3.5" HDD with a new Seagate Momentus XT ST95005620AS Solid State Hybrid Drive.

Avoid this one!

Antec TPQ-850 850W Continuous Power ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC "compatible with Core i7/Core i5" Power Supply
Antec TPQ-850 850W Continuous Power ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC "compatible with Core i7/Core i5" Power Supply

Pros: Lasted 15 months and quiet operation.

Cons: Failed after 15 months of 24x7 operation. An Antec power supply for this application and cost should last longer than the rest of the PC.

Overall Review: Installed in an Antec 1200 case (very nice). Typical load was ~225 watts. Intel QuadCore, ATI 4870 HD, 4x1 TB SATA drives. My APC UPS shutdown while we were not home (fortunately). When I fired it up again I heard a loud electrical arc/pop and turned it off immediately. Doubled checked the supply once again without anything hooked up (enabled the power good signal) and it popped again and flashed sparks. Not worth your time, money, or risk of fire. Avoid this one. I just purchased a Corsair HX750 from Newegg to replace this one. Hope everything else in my system is okay.

Nice while it lasted (less than 8 hours)

Thermaltake BlacX ST0005U External Hard Drive SATA Enclosure Docking Station 2.5" & 3.5" USB 2.0 & eSATA
Thermaltake BlacX ST0005U External Hard Drive SATA Enclosure Docking Station 2.5" & 3.5" USB 2.0 & eSATA

Pros: Nice docking unit. Well constructed, good door, eject mechanism works well. Heavy/weighted base so it doesn't feel like it is going to tip over. Both USB 2.0 and eSATA connections with both cables included.

Cons: Lasted less than 8 hours. Hooked it up before going to bed and dead the next morning. Power light blinks red for a split second and goes out. First thought the power supply died but it is providing +12 volts okay and with another power supply the same thing happens.

Overall Review: I am returning this unit to Newegg for a replacement. Based on other reviews I hope to have good luck with the next one. The construction is so nice it is worth another try.
