Oh, Man!

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-14900CL9D-4GBXM
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-14900CL9D-4GBXM

Pros: G.Skill - always works. G.Skill - looks cool. G.Skill - Survives well-intentioned, technically uninformed yet eager OC'ers, UG'ers and SysBldr's who have not yet taken the time to educate themselves.

Cons: G.Skill is not free. G.Skill does not provide extra heatsinks for tricking-out kitchen appliances and shop tools. I could machine my own, but they would not be authorized nor authentic.

Overall Review: Bought these to relocate the heatsinks to my kitchen mixer so it too would look 'G.Skill'. I will share photos when you have overhauled Congress and executed proper Tort, Insurance and Tax Reforms. That will get you mixer pictures - eliminate Lawyers and I will share my Chopped 'No Bays' ATX Box (with Custom Paint and Mfr Badges) pix.

SanDisk Ultra 2.5" 120GB SATA II Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SDSSDH-120G-G25
SanDisk Ultra 2.5" 120GB SATA II Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SDSSDH-120G-G25

Pros: Small. Fast. Quiet.

Cons: Died. No 'event', just died one day on boot. No easy RMA link on SanDisk's site.

Overall Review: Have had only ONE HDD die out of ~220 over 31 years and this wonderful new fast superduper limited life technology chip-brick didn't last a 8 months - barely 1,300 hrs actual use - so much for the manufacturers claim of 2,000,000 hr MTTF. Flip side would be someone else's will last nearly 4,000,000 hrs, yeah?

AMD FX-8320 - FX-8000 Series Vishera 8-Core 3.5 GHz (4.0 GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W Desktop Processor - FD8320FRHKBOX
AMD FX-8320 - FX-8000 Series Vishera 8-Core 3.5 GHz (4.0 GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W Desktop Processor - FD8320FRHKBOX

Pros: OC'd to 4.4 GHZ 1st try, then was able to drop CPU volts 2 notches, wow. Hums along under PRIME95 @ 52C. Ran 3.5 hrs solid.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: This was for 2nd Game box & to compare to i5/i7 boxes I've built. Good value, more or less equal performance and very easy to OC. I generally don't oc - like my warranties, but gotta keep informed. I did not expect to drop below stock volts on CPU, was nice surprise.

An OK Deal

Final Fantasy XIV PC Game
Final Fantasy XIV PC Game

Pros: You may have a buddy, and he may have a buddy code, and with that code you can play for 30 days, signup for longer if you wish, and apparently contniue playing as long as you pay your monthlies.

Cons: Pre-order offered a bonus item, good for your low level beginnings. So, even tho' I had gotten a buddy code and was already playing, I went for the goggles and the game because it's goody-nicey to pay and get a gift. Only, no gift. No Reward Code in game package, anywhere. Newegg may or may not email me a code - THEY DON'T KNOW. Square-Enix may email me a code, but THEY DON'T KNOW. After you receive the pre-order - no one knows anything about the pre-order garlond goggles - wow. How Nice. And No Refunds / No Returns, of course. As for the game itself - harvesting is a goofy pain - and, like Aion and FF ??? - lotsa run run run kill kill kill craft-kinda-craft. No house to hide in, no legacy to leave, nothing to really 'build' and say, My Castle!! No crafting recipes without a good bit of hassle - it might be fun in japan and korea and china, but the US needs some better 'open' quests and if ya gonna make me multiple click for harvesting, make it a real 'skill', not a dookie shoot.

Overall Review: Don't Buy this. Find a buddy code, use it, pay your monthlies if you can stand to play more than a few weeks. Newegg - no more software purchases from you - you really let me down on this one - waiting up to a week for a reward code Newegg or SE might not even send is horse pucky. I've bought most my hardware from you over the years, but if this winky poor 'get me to buy it with a treat and then don't pay out' kinda deal while expanding to all sorts of non-computer hardware sales is where you are headed, I'm gone. I like honesty and up front consistency from my vendors - not "I dunno, buy mixer?" and the other nonsense I heard today from you and SE. If you offer it for sale, know just what it is you are selling so you are not surprised by customers chasing their tails for the rest of the deal YOU OFFERED. - Oh, and leave the Original Pre-order pages up so YOUR REPS can reference them instead of asking me what the original pre-order page said - whaddaheck??!!
