Most Favorable Review

Excellent Laptop with some small issues.

MSI - 17.3" - Intel Core i7-4700HQ - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M - 16 GB DDR3 - 750GB HDD 128 GB SSD - Windows 8 - Gaming Laptop (GS70 2OD-001US )

Pros: Quick boot up and over fast laptop due mainly to the SSD drive, i7, and 16 gb memory. Actually the machine not used for gaming but would easily handle many of the most demanding games on high settings. The machine was purchased for the 17" 1920-1080 HD screen, for great picture and video playback.

Cons: 1. Space bar - left side works, right side does not work about 50% of the time, and LED under right side of space bar is not lit. 2. Screen - At 1 month of use 1 dead pixel. I know that most RMAs do not cover a single dead pixel, however to say this is normal is wrong. I support hundreds of desktops with LCD monitors and laptops on a daily basis and none have ever had dead pixels. This includes my personal TVs, monitors, and those of friends and family.

Great tablet, horrible support

Pros: The device is of excellent quality as has been all of my ASUS products purchased in the past. The resolution is stunning and the Google Play store offers all apps you need or want including some very good games that look great on this tablet. I have not had time to watch movies or really test it out see cons below.

Cons: The only problem I had with the unit is that the screen is not bonded correctly to the back, and it produces very noticable, annoying clicking noise when pressed (on top right and bottom left of the screen while holding it in landscape mode.) I waited too long to RMA the unit to Newegg and missed the 30 day limited. I contacted ASUS, and this is where most of the problems begin. I received the RMA number and shipping instructions without any problem. I followed the instructions to the letter placing the RMA number on the shipping label and placed a 2nd copy of shipping label inside box. The shipping facility boxed it, labeled it and shipped it out. It did not get delievered, and was found in shipping facility with missing label 2 weeks later. I was able to have them deliever it to ASUS and received confirmation of delivery. ASUS states that they sent it back due to mismatch between serial number and rma number, but they cannot provide me with a tracking number and shipping company confirms the delivery, not a refusable of the package. This has been ongoing since delivery of the unit on Oct 16 2012, (8 weeks).

Overall Review: If you buy ASUS products and find an issue within 30 days return it to Newegg for replacement. Do not deal with ASUS customer service. They are real nice in giving canned responses of how they are sorry for the inconvience but unable supply any real results. It would be nice just to get the unit back in one piece and I will deal with the clicking to never purchase another ASUS product.
