Aspire One is the One!!!!

Pros: Light - easy to take everywhere. Cool - everyone loves this computer. Easy to use- XP Home version runs very fast. Screen is very sharp and clear, though small it is easy to use and the keyboard is big enough. Plenty of ports for USB or Memory cards. Video is great - I run My JVC Projector from this and it looks great. I thought I'd need more ram, but it works fine with the installed 1gb, so I don't think I'll worry about it. Its a topnotch little machine, I repair laptops and I think this one should not need my attention for years.
Cons: I wish I could buy these in bulk, everybody I show mine too wants to buy one. Can I get a referral fee from newegg? Wish I could find somewhere to buy a spare battery - they seem to be always sold out.
Overall Review: Replaced a dell D510 with this and it is working out nicely so far. I like the fact that the weight is a fraction and it boots up from hibernation in under 30 seconds. This makes it easy to keep notes and things handy on a real time basis. It really makes the old computer bag look huge, cause there is now so much extra room inside.
world in your pocket

Pros: very small, excellent subtitle support, can change color of subs, size and outline color. supports 720p and 1080p as well as composite video. Has all known codecs embedded, boots quick and runs like a champ. Great unit - the power adapter is bigger than the actual player. Simple onscreen interface. Plays OGG as well as APE and other audio formats and your bogstandard mp3.
Cons: 1st generation remote is too small, too many similar buttons and short battery life due to battery size. The latest remotes are much better, they are bigger use AAA batteries and have better layout and control markings. It is a very light unit and the hdmi cable will act as a lever and move the unit about. A bit of velcro on the bottom will keep it in place if need be.
Overall Review: Its a great product, especially for its price point. IT handles everything and though I own a media player with built in drive - I bought one of these as well because of its great subtitle support. If you only own one media player, make it this one and use the HDMI output, its gorgeous.
Lite-on Right on! Again

Pros: Works great out of the box, not much vibration - I had to mount it on rails for the case I was using - don't know if that increases or decreases vibration. Haven't used rails in a decade. Fast burner, used dvd-r and dvd+r no probs. Shorter chasis that lite-on drives use, makes them easy to work with.
Cons: Wasn't onsale at 2 for 1 special ) grin...
Overall Review: I own 4 lite-on dvd burners and from 4x to 20x and they are all still working like champs. Some folks like them, some don't, I've never had a problem. They work great when mounting in small form factor cases, with the shorter drive length, a real plus when knuckle busting in a tiny case.
Verbatim Majestic Magenta

Pros: Great print quality, great price, highly reliable. Virtually identical to original equipment mfg's toner carts. Much much better than refill/reloads offered by some sites. These are great lower cost alternatives to the OEM with the same color range, I've used a dozen of these and no problems, no tears.
Cons: No recycling labels, unlike the OEM carts. You'll have to find your own recycler, the Girl Scouts accept used carts and I'm sure there are other orgs/charities looking for them.
Overall Review: The highest expense of a color laser is the toner, this is one way to bring the cost of use/ownership back down to earth.
Asus Vintage - CLASSIC!!

Pros: Small form factor, beautiful retro 60's transistor radio design. Backlit blue lcd, lets me know when its on. Lots of ports,usb,firewire,HDI/VGA etc. I've used vGA & HDI ports with LCD monitors and it worked fine for me. The quality is very good. The motherboard may vary by model, production time etc. or so I'm guessing because there was no real motherboard manual included. After looking over the ASUS website I found the manual and downloaded it. No fuss - setup was a breeze, sure beats scraping your knuckles on sharp corners trying to build your own case/MB configuration. Great little computer and quiet enough to do audio/video work.
Cons: No motherboard manual included, only the quick install guide. The front bezel clips are long and in the way when installing hard drive. no big deal just pop the bezel loose. Side of case for access has screws - replace with thumbscrews if you want easy access.
Overall Review: Dandy little computer, looks great, doesn't take up much space and doesn't really need a video card/sound card/firewire card etc. because everything is on board and works well unless your a super game nerd in which case you'll want a video card that costs more than your car and a sound card that comes with a mortgage and probably shouldn't be considering this unit in the 1st place.
I have the 512mb model

Pros: handy size. Good sound quality long battery life. Good eq settings. Average FM reception. Easy to transfer files to & from computers.
Cons: Menu system takes awhile to learn. My manual was in pidgin english and did not make much sense.
Overall Review: I added a strip of velcro to the back battery cover and it is light enough that it sticks to the stitching on my T-shirts when I work out.
