This review is from: ZALMAN FG1000 Black 6 Buttons 1 x Wheel USB Wired 2000 dpi Gun Mouse
Pros: - The movement is very smooth.
- The adjustable dpi is very handy when moving from normal use to more fine motor work.
- Extremely comfortable for long periods of use, even for larger hands.
- I don't have the accidental double click issue with this that I have with a standard mouse.
- The scroll wheel is very smooth and works well.
- Easy to move the cursor across dual monitors with minimal hand movement.
Cons: Hardly a con, but it's too tall to fit in my desk keyboard drawer at home and allow the drawer to close. It is a bit easier to use with a larger mouse pad.
Other Thoughts: I have hands large enough to palm a basketball, but do not have the comfort issues that others were complaining about. I wrap three fingers around the middle and leave my pinky sitting on the side and it's very comfortable. I never have issues with my wrist hurting after prolonged use like I do with a standard mouse. I've owned it for about 8 months (purchased in 10/2012) and use it daily at work (I don't game with it). My wife wanted to try it so we bought a second one. I tried gaming with it, but it has a learning curve in a fast-paced game.
I much prefer this mouse to a standard one at work. At its most sensitive setting I can move the mouse across my dual monitors with minimal hand gestures. When I need more precise handling I simply push the dpi button.
The sensor is in the front part of the mouse while your hand is at the rear making it possible to move across two monitors by rotating your hand only slightly. As for moving up and down on the screen, the palm of my hand rests slightly off the back of the mouse. I simply squeeze my fist a little or push slightly with my palm and it moves up and down with ease.
I haven't really had a problem with the padding falling off. and it feels just as solid as any other mouse. I don't find myself having to lift it off the pad and moving it over in order to make it across all my screen real estate like I do with a standard mouse.
I really like this mouse for everyday use. It's much more comfortable than a standard mouse. I would not really recommend it for gaming without a lot of practice though. My wife also likes it a lot and uses it to play StarCraft 2 mostly.
