Suprisingly powerful
Pros: Directional - yet pulls in from other angles - has bi-directional feature
Cons: none
Overall Review: I had over 50 feet of cable and split the signal between two TVs. Most VHF signals come from 45 miles away. My address is 102 Garfield St, zip 97520. You can type it in on AntennaWeb.org and see that I have a unique situation. There are many mountains and hills between me and that far away tower. Channel 10 is blocked by a big hill that shadows our town and blocks the line-of-sight. It is an apartment complex of a long building and we are the middle apartment. I put it on the back patio. All the towers were blocked by our 2-story row building, so I doubt if any signals come directly in line-of-sight, especially with our terrain here. The antenna's about 6' from the house and 9' high. We get all major networks, CBS, NBC, ABC, PBS and Fox. All perfect, except CBS (10) as expected, but it is not bad. We get channel 5 with a little herringbone and/or snow, but never got 5 before with rabbit ears. 10 is a bit ghosty as expected, but 10 and 5 should be OK with Digital.
disappointed
Pros: metal case, excellent Newegg customer service for return.
Cons: Installation is a sham without XP, skimpy documentation. Horrible toxic odor emitting from electronics within.
Overall Review: There is no step-by-step setup software or configuration. If you don't have XP, your out of luck.
big disappointment - very bad
Pros: comes with USB extension
Cons: CD claims to have driver but had no driver for win98se. no documentation. no usable information on CD - no even a readme. CD smells toxic
Overall Review: This device is not made for win98se. It claims to have a driver on the CD but there is none. There is nothing on the CD but some photos and instructions like "duh, put the CD in the CD drive, follow the instructions." CD had more bugs than you can shake a stick at. My OS could not find the driver and an exploration of the CD showed no sign of a driver file (identified by the extension.) This device claims to run on 98se but it does not supply the software, besides that the CD acts like a dog. Tried it on two different computers with the same buggy results. There are no drivers or downloads on the crucial website either. I'm sending it back.
