This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100 (CWCH100) Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler
Pros: Works like a champ. In my upstairs office with poor air conditioning, my temps ran around the mid 40s on average when idle. Gaming is a no-no in summer. Now, it hits 40c when gaming for a few hours, and idles at around 33c. Can't wait to see how it runs in winter when it's cooler!
Cons: The hoses are a bit stiff, but it's not a big deal for me.
Other Thoughts: Wish I had realized that my 2 x 120mm side by side fans were on the side and not in the rear like I had thought. But as long as I'm not opening my case often it's no big deal for me.READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: ZALMAN CNPS9500A-LED 92mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler
Pros: Cheap and very good cooling! For some reason, my CPU has been running hot lately, 50s at idle, so I figured my old heat sink and fan were no good, and used a spare from my other desktop and it kept the temp down to the mid 40s, which is typical with that setup. 15 minutes after install, my temps hover around 30C with the fan on at max.
Cons: A bit large, if you have any RAM that has a tall heatsink attached to it, you may wanna reconsider if this fan if it needs to be mounted with the vents running horizontal opposed to vertical, unless you have a good amount of space between your CPU and RAM slots.
Other Thoughts: The fins are pretty large on this, and with my Rosewill Challenger, it fit fine, except I have all 4 RAM slots taken up on my Gigabyte 970A-UD3, 2 of them have heatsinks that sit a bit higher, and I just had to swap out the short RAM so the fins had enough room for my taste to not interfere with cooling. Just try to make sure you have a good 2 to 2.5 inches of clearance on every side of your CPU and you wont regret a thing!READ FULL REVIEW
This review is from: GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3 AM3+ AMD 970 + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
Pros: Plenty of USB 2.0 rear ports
Cons: Having an issue where I need to take out the battery to clear bios 3 times in the last week.
Other Thoughts: Not sure if its just the battery, but after leaving my PC on over night, it goes into hibernation, and it wont come out of it until I unplug it and remove the battery to clear the Bios. Possibly just the battery, but Im not sure. Once I clear the bios, it runs fine and I dont lose any settings, just annoying to have to do it on occassion.
Otherwise, works great for my budget upgrade!
