Great CPU

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition - Phenom II X4 Deneb Quad-Core 3.4 GHz Socket AM3 125W Processor - HDZ965FBGMBOX
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition - Phenom II X4 Deneb Quad-Core 3.4 GHz Socket AM3 125W Processor - HDZ965FBGMBOX

Pros: upgraded from an AMD 5200 X2. Overall it showed improvements. Most apps were like night and day while others (well needless to say, things can only go so fast lol). But in some CPU intensive games I did notice great improvements. overall system snappiness was improved. I do not regret this purchase at all.

Cons: mine only had the 4 cores. could not unlock past 4. not a con but since I have to write something.

Overall Review: paired this with an Asrock 890FX MB (N82E16813157208) and 8 GB G Skill RAM (N82E16820231311) was built as an inexpensive gaming rig and not disappointed at all. Video card is a XFX 4890 and that too is a great card (seems to be no longer available on Newegg though) With that setup in Age of Conan running 1920 X 1200 on DX 9 (everything maxed) I get around 145 FPS and Lord of the Rings Online DX 10 1920 x 1200 everything maxed also around 150 FPS.

So far great MB

ASRock 890FX Deluxe4 AM3+ Note: Supported by BIOS P1.60 or later. AMD 890FX USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Lots of features, front USB 3.0 and pretty inexpensive for class. I have this paired with a Phenom II 965 X4 and 8 GB G Skill ripjaw (N82E16820231311) and it runs great.

Cons: none really. great price, great features = no complains

Overall Review: BIOS has crazy amounts of features that I have not really opened up and delved into yet but I see alot of potential. Solid board and is running strong. I use this as a gaming rig and for the total cost I could not be happier. CPU - Phenom II 965 BE RAM - 8 GB G Skill Video - xfx 4890 1GB PSU - 750 watt

Wonderful cooling solution

Scythe USA SCVMS-1000 Sleeve VGA Cooler
Scythe USA SCVMS-1000 Sleeve VGA Cooler

Pros: I am using on an AMD xfx 4890. It keeps the card around 45c in idle and usually around 60c-65c while gaming. It is very silent and having the fan speed controls take a space in the back is really cool. over all great product, I actually own 2. the other is installed on a 8800GT. Keeps that one on the chilly side also.

Cons: Not really a con since it does not seem to affect the cooling performance. But installed on a 4890, it will slide from side to side alittle but stays on GPU great to pull off the heat which is what it is all about. like I said. it worried me at first but after seeing continual great cooling my concerns went away.

Overall Review: inexpensive and a silent beast for a cooler. A+ in my book

Solid CPU

AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000 - Athlon 64 X2 Brisbane Dual-Core 2.6 GHz Socket AM2 65W Processor - ADO5000DOBOX
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000 - Athlon 64 X2 Brisbane Dual-Core 2.6 GHz Socket AM2 65W Processor - ADO5000DOBOX

Pros: this is one solid cpu. been using it for about 2 months now and have not experienced a single hic-up yet. I upgraded from a 4200 X2 overall on most apps there is not that much difference, but some games really show the extra power.

Cons: none

Overall Review: system setup: geforce 8800 512 GT, 5000 X2, 4gb RAM, 128 PhysX card, SB Aud 2, Samsung 260GB(main) HD, WD 500GB(sec)HD

Kingston ValueRAM 2GB (2 x 1GB) Unbuffered DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model KVR667D2N5K2/2G
Kingston ValueRAM 2GB (2 x 1GB) Unbuffered DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model KVR667D2N5K2/2G

Pros: bought this same set a little over a year ago to boost my system from 2 - 4 gb. finally decided to replace original 2gb sticks (533) with these. these sticks have been very stable and solid and can not wait to get my new set so I'm running 4gb of these in my system.

Cons: none

Overall Review: man how the price has changed over the year. I bought these on sale for around $90 about 1 year ago.

Great Card

GIGABYTE GeForce 7600GS 512MB GDDR2 PCI Express x16 SLI Support Graphics Card GV-NX76G512P-RH
GIGABYTE GeForce 7600GS 512MB GDDR2 PCI Express x16 SLI Support Graphics Card GV-NX76G512P-RH

Pros: very cheap 512MB vid card, runs cool and good. comes over clocked out of the box, ran Nvidia's coolbits recommended over clock speed put the card at: core - 571 and mem clock - 948: been running this for a good 2 weeks and its running at a good 65 during heavy load.

Cons: Since it doesn't have a fan, make sure you have good air circulation in your case.

Overall Review: great bang for the buck. running LOTR with full setting and 2x AA with Athlon X2 4200, 2 GB Samsung RAM and a WD SATA HD. can't complain....
