They work!

Logisys CS4801BK Black 4U Rackmount Server Case 3 External 5.25" Drive Bays
Logisys CS4801BK Black 4U Rackmount Server Case 3 External 5.25" Drive Bays

Pros: This case works. I have two of them, one houses my server, the other houses my router. Both have no issues. I did have to cut out some of the grill on the top cover for my server, and add a couple of higher-flow fans (I have 7 HDDs in my server, they generate some heat, as well as a quad core AMD chip). Router computer works fine with stock cooling.

Cons: They are flimsy. And the use of non0standard screws stinks. But hey, this case is a NICE low-cost alternative to some of the others out there, and it has a shallow depth for use in small racks!

Overall Review: I have an Ortonics 12U rack, and it's only 20" deep. These work great. I had to take the rack tab ears and flip them around (gave me an extra inch to play with), but overall, I'd buy another one if I was in need of a rack mount case.

Tech support = dumb and rude!

HighPoint RocketRAID 640L PCI-Express 2.0 x4 Low Profile SATA RAID Controller Card
HighPoint RocketRAID 640L PCI-Express 2.0 x4 Low Profile SATA RAID Controller Card

Pros: Worked with my server setup as a RAID 5 data storage, I did not have this setup to boot from. Got decent speeds, too! Typically 100-125MB/sec transfers with 4 4TB Western Digital Green drives. I was happy.

Cons: Computer started to randomly reboot after 3 weeks of flawless operation. I then noticed that on occasion the server would reboot. Narrowed it down to every time the RAID array was accessed heavily, it would BSOD (IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL_TO for RR640L.SYS). And going into the RAID monitoring software, I can re-create the issue every time. I powered the system off, and turned it back on, and when it came time for the 640L to initialize and bring up the BIOS screen, all I got was 1 green square, and an N with a squiggly line over it, and the computer hung. I hit reset, same result. Hit reset a third time, then card initialized, and I continued to boot. I then contacted tech support for Highpoint. Immediately I was told that my hard drives were the problem and they could not help me. Uhh, ok. 1st, if the hard drives were a problem, then why did it work PERFECTLY for 3 weeks? And second, I removed all the SATA cables from the card and am able to replicate the lock computer upon BIOS initialization not only with my original computer, but a 2nd as well! They still refuse to listen and understand, and will not RMA the card. And since it's now over 30 days (I did not start using the card right away after ordering, I had to wait for time to rebuild my server), I cannot return it to Newegg. My advice? BUY ADAPTEC or SOMEONE ELSE, NOT HIGHPOINT.

Overall Review: I had a HighPoint RocketRaid 2224 card running in my current server for 3-4 years with 4 1TB Green drives attached to it, and NEVER had any issues. Figured the HP RR640L would provide me with the same service. No. I'm terribly disappointed in myself for not trusting the other people on here that stated the HighPoint Tech Support is terrible. They weren't kidding.

Not too happy with this...

ADATA 4GB Class 6 Micro SDHC Flash Card with SD adaptor Model AUSDH4GCL6-RA1
ADATA 4GB Class 6 Micro SDHC Flash Card with SD adaptor Model AUSDH4GCL6-RA1

Pros: 4GB on the cheap.

Cons: High Density/High Capacity card, does not work in some older SD devices. My Dell 2407FPW and my HP Printer and my Kodak camera will not see the card in the adapter, or any adapter, for that matter. Phone sees it fine, (I bought it for the C711 Boulder), but takes a LONG time to read off of the card. I installed a standard 2 GB micro SD card, and worked a lot better. The reasons I picked this card was the capacity and the speed rating, but I cannot use it in anything other than the phone (which makes transferring pictures/movies/music to and from my computer to the phone a moot point).

Overall Review: The little case they send it in is thin, and the lock that holds the two halves together is a pain to get loose. I used my brother's AData MicroSD/USB adapter, and I was able to read/write to the card through the computer. Why couldn't they include that adapter for an extra couple bucks?

Asus, heard of G.Skill?

ASUS M2A-VM AM2 AMD 690G Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
ASUS M2A-VM AM2 AMD 690G Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Nice motherboard layout, floppy connector isn't clear down at the bottom of the board like on some, BIOS is straight forward, good price.

Cons: Does NOT work with G.Skill memory, even with latest BIOS from Asus' website. Manual is not correct, shows SATA connectors ordered in a different order than the onboard controller does.

Overall Review: Was a good thing I had some Corsair DDR2 memory laying around for future use, and had bought it when it was on sale. Had to dig out a speaker to hear the beep codes, which were wrong (1 long, 2 short, indicate video issue, but video is on board!). Once I swapped memory, after reading a few forums, board posted just fine. Updated BIOS, and tried G.Skill memory again, and did not work. Disappointing, I've used Asus boards in a lot of my previous builds, and never had any issues with memory compatibility like this. Way to drop the ball Asus.
