Camera Is Very Clear

Rosewill RCAM-100 0.35MP Effective Pixels USB 2.0 WebCam and Headset
Rosewill RCAM-100 0.35MP Effective Pixels USB 2.0 WebCam and Headset

Pros: The camera is very clear and bright. The clip would be fantastic for a laptop, but it is also adequate as a stand. The software is a breeze to install. Definitely worth the money.

Cons: The headset is just awful. Consider it a freebie when ordering the camera. It works just fine, but the way you have to wear it is terrible and it doesn't stay on your ear.

Overall Review: Overall, good buy.

Most Critical Review

Slow, Slow, Slow...

Kingston DataTraveler 101 Gen 2 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive (Black) DT101G2/16GBZ
Kingston DataTraveler 101 Gen 2 16GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive (Black) DT101G2/16GBZ

Pros: It has a strong metal swing out cover. It works. An egg for the cover and an egg because it works.

Cons: Slow as molasses. Slowest USB flash drive I have ever used. I made the mistake of buying two of these because they were on sale. When something has a great price and you buy two, in the end it doesn't matter when it turns out to be an inferior product. I keep seeing that when other people have said that they are slow, a Kingston rep leaves a note saying it's an "entry level product". So are my other two flash drives, both USB 2.0 and both 16GB. A friend also has two of different brands, but both USB 2.0, both 16GB and both "entry level". Compared to these other "entry level", inexpensive flash drives, this thing is a joke. You can format it, write zeroes and then format it, try it in a USB 3.0 port, but alas, still slower than anything else out there (what I have used and seen personally). I've purchased other Kingston products and never had such terrible quality. I'm sure Kinston will use the excuse I see over and over again on here. We live and we learn. Oh, on the bright side, it works.

Overall Review: The lower than advertised capacity is nothing new. Layman's terms capacity and true capacity are two different things and are almost always different on these types of things and on hard drives. I expected this. Actual capacity is 14.5GB.

Great USB DVD Drive

SAMSUNG USB 2.0 Slim External DVD Writer Model SE-208DB/TSLS
SAMSUNG USB 2.0 Slim External DVD Writer Model SE-208DB/TSLS

Pros: My Acer Aspire instantly recognized it and needed no driver installation. It also recognized it at startup, which is the most important thing. For being a single USB drive, it is actually quite fast. The single USB hookup is also a plus as my Aspire only has two USB ports.

Cons: It's not USB 3.0, but for what it is, it's still fast enough.

Overall Review: Had I waited a few more days I could have gotten the black one for the sale price. I only chose this one as it was seven dollars cheaper than the black one at the time. Now the prices are reversed. In the end, though, it doesn't really matter what color it is, as long as it works. (I guess if it were lime green with purple polka dots I might make an exception to that rule)

Great Product

D-Link DUB-E100 Network Adapter 10/100Mbps USB 1 x RJ45
D-Link DUB-E100 Network Adapter 10/100Mbps USB 1 x RJ45

Pros: Works perfectly with Windows 8. I have version C. I used the drivers that came on the disk, and after installation, it worked like a charm. Getting the same speeds on this Acer Aspire as my desktop with an internal network card.

Cons: I wish the USB cable was a little longer. A retracting cable would be even better.

Overall Review: It's not fancy, but it does what it's supposed to. For those of us who have a netbook/notebook that does not have a built in network card, nor an available wireless connection, this is a must. I normally would not choose a notebook such as this (Acer Aspire V5-122P-0889), but I received it free as part of the emachines class action settlement, so I can't complain.

Great Portable Drive

WD 500GB My Passport Portable Hard Drive USB 3.0/USB 2.0 Model WDBKXH5000ABK-NESN Black
WD 500GB My Passport Portable Hard Drive USB 3.0/USB 2.0 Model WDBKXH5000ABK-NESN Black

Pros: Small, light and fast. Stays surprisingly cool. Can do a system image backup of W8 Pro, which is about 25GB for me, in less than six minutes. Actually a bit faster than my USB 3.0 16GB ADATA flash drive, which was surprising. I would, without a doubt, recommend this to anyone wanting to backup their system and/or just do some storage.

Cons: Software is not very good, but most people probably won't or don't use it anyway. It would be nice if the USB cable were 24" instead of 18". Together these things aren't enough to take an egg off as the positives far outweigh the negatives.

Overall Review: You aren't going to lose this nearly as easily as you could a USB flash drive, though they serve their purpose as well. I have the 750GB version, but other than capacity it is essentially the same thing. It's pretty nifty looking as well. I did not buy it from here, but that's only because I had a coupon from Dell, otherwise I buy everything computer related here.

Wow!

Cooler Master MegaFlow 200 - Sleeve Bearing 200mm Silent Fan for Computer Cases (Black)
Cooler Master MegaFlow 200 - Sleeve Bearing 200mm Silent Fan for Computer Cases (Black)

Pros: Virtually silent. Moves a ton of air.

Cons: I didn't order two.

Overall Review: Adding this fan has brought my CPU temps, while running Prime95 for many hours, down a full seven degrees compared to when I just had the two 120mm fans in my HAF 912. It now hovers between 51-53C on an FX-6100 with stock cooling while running Prime95. It sits around 20C when idle. I wasn't originally planning on buying a second one of these and putting it in the top of the case, but I have changed my mind and will be doing so. Only bad part is I may have to remove the motherboard to be able to screw it in properly. It will be well worth it, though, if I have to. It was shockingly big when I first saw it.
