Otherworldly

Pioneer SP-BS41-LR 2 CH Bookshelf Loudspeakers Pair
Pioneer SP-BS41-LR 2 CH Bookshelf Loudspeakers Pair

Pros: I am a professional musician and recording engineer. I bought the Pioneer BS41's on the advice of an article in Stereophile. I had intended to use them during studio mixdowns just to get a different perspective from my pro JBL & ADAM studio monitors -hi-end expensive stuff. These speakers are almost too good to use when making critical mixing assessments. They make my worst. most careless mix sound good and the stuff I really labor over comes out other-worldly awesome. $80/pr. Unbelievable. Get them, Pair them with a decent sub in a larger room and lookout. Makes music the good kind of scary again,

Cons: There is no competition at this or several multiples of this price range. Thats a con for the overall market.

No quality control at Seagate anymore

Seagate Momentus XT ST95005620AS 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s with NCQ 2.5" Solid State Hybrid Drive Bare Drive
Seagate Momentus XT ST95005620AS 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s with NCQ 2.5" Solid State Hybrid Drive Bare Drive

Pros: I have nothing good to say about these drives. Seagate, a company which once instilled confidence with its products is now, in my opinion completely untrustworthy.

Cons: You will lose your data. I purchased a Momentus drive in May which was DOA. I chalked that up to luck of the draw - I have never had a DOA drive from Newegg or Seagate before in 20+ years of IT experience. I ordered another Momentus drive and in 31 days it failed with the same clicking (cant find boot sector) sound the first drive had out of the box. This are laptop drives for a Lenovo T61. The original Hitachi drive that came with the T61 continues to work fine, its just a bit limited in capacity.
