Disappointing Purchase

ASUS ROG Maximus XI Hero (Wi-Fi) Z390 Gaming Motherboard LGA1151 (Intel 8th and 9th Gen) ATX DDR4 DP HDMI M.2 USB 3.1 Gen2 Onboard 802.11 ac
ASUS ROG Maximus XI Hero (Wi-Fi) Z390 Gaming Motherboard LGA1151 (Intel 8th and 9th Gen) ATX DDR4 DP HDMI M.2 USB 3.1 Gen2 Onboard 802.11 ac

Pros: I haven't been able to determine any pros for the Maximus Hero Z390 because I've had to RMA two motherboards because I could not remove the M.2 heat sink plates.

Cons: I've had to RMA two motherboards because I could not remove all the M.2 heat sink plate screws. The screws were over tightened and, as a result, I was not able to install my two M.2 SSDs.

Overall Review: Asus, as a first time customer with you, I'm disappointed with my buying experience. I am disappointed in the quality control for the Maximus XI Hero motherboard. A premium is being charged for this motherboard but the quality of the motherboard is not proportional to the price you pay. My disappointment extends beyond the motherboard because the computer I'm building revolves solely around Asus' ecosystem. If I can't obtain a defect free Asus motherboard then I've wasted a lot of money in components. To potential customers, I cannot recommend the ROG Maximus XI Hero Z390 until the issue with over tightening the M.2 heat plate screws is corrected. Asus, in the spirit of continuous improvement, one way to correct the issue would be to reduce the torque specs of the M.2 screws in the manufacturing process. This is a quick and easy solution to implement and the solution would eliminate the root cause of many complaints.
