Affordable WQHD monitor

Acer B276HUL Dark Gray 27" 6ms WQHD HDMI Widescreen LED Backlight LCD Monitor IPS 350 cd/m2 ACM 100,000,000:1 (1000:1) Built-in Speakers
Acer B276HUL Dark Gray 27" 6ms WQHD HDMI Widescreen LED Backlight LCD Monitor IPS 350 cd/m2 ACM 100,000,000:1 (1000:1) Built-in Speakers

Pros: - on the cheaper side as far as WQHD monitors go - colors really pop compared to my Viewsonic gaming TN panel - good response times - good stand

Cons: - some light bleed around edges - 1 stuck red pixel

Overall Review: Purchased this monitor from another brick/mortar retailer, but wanted to fill in the Newegg community on this monitor since I ended up purchasing another great monitor on Newegg. I'm a major FPS/RPG gamer and so I was debating whether I wanted to have more screen real estate vs faster response times (but only possible on 1080p till the ROG Swift comes out). The B276HUL has a decent feel to it, stand is fairly stable but it did jiggle some when typing on my desk. I probably would have kept it if not for the stuck red pixel in the middle right quadrant of the screen. For near $600 it should be perfect in my opinion. But the colors are great, gaming on IPS can be a big benefit in making your games really come alive, compared to pale colors on some TN panels. For gaming the added real estate is really nice but I wanted more response times since I play a lot of FPS. Ended up getting the BenQ XL2720Z instead on Newegg and am loving that (FPS don't look vastly different vs QHD and I prefer the 144hz refresh). If you choose the Acer, buyers could look into the new 32" version of the Acer monitor. For a Civ or Age of Wonders player QHD would be really nice.
