Do not pass go, go directly to NEWEGG RMA
Pros: Great advertising, lots of software features, its the express lane to the true newegg rma process and not the one of reviews
Cons: Poor build quality, DOA, open antistatic bag On arrival I was surprised to find the bag unsealed but otherwise in good order on the top. Flipping it over there were many places that component leads had almost pushed through. Upon opening package, solder joints appeared cold, especially in the area of all the ports. All across the board the lead lengths were untrimmed and irregular. On the heavier joints the solder was blobbed on, convex rather than concave. I've seen less critical stuff like this work but this one didn't. Upon opening the CPU socket a dark spot, possibly a burn surrounded one of the pins. It might reveal itself upon microscopic examination to be manufacturer contamination.
Overall Review: I purchased this board on past reputation of both New Egg and ASUS. I found both undeserved. From my research, ASUS currently has the highest out of box rma in the field. Its about 1 in thirty or 40 according to foreign statistics. Mother boards in general have about a 1 in 20 chance of needing warranty through their lifetime. Therefore, service of your vendor and manufacturer should be weighed very heavily in your decision. The response from ASUS has not been bad but my interfacing with them has barely begun. Troubleshooting over phone instead of chat was nice. My return process end to end will be 24 calender days. Newegg personnel have been polite.
