E6420 to Q9550

Pros: -Extremely fast -Easy to overclock (even if I did not, yet) -Runs cool with the stock fan (23°C in my basement) -Matches the i7 on most aspects, for less
Cons: -Nothing, except if yours arrive DOA, which would kind of suck
Overall Review: Awesome upgrade from my E6420. Everything my old processor used to do at 90-100% only takes 5 to 15% on this quad core (except file converting). Runs 40 tasks at an average of 2% vs 10% on my older CPU. Video to Ipod file converting came from >1h to <15 minutes. Stick to Intel; you pay a bit more, but you get what you paid for: QUALITY !

Pros: Fast USB 3.0 Rubber padding inside reduces vibrations Looks professional
Cons: Glossy cover Screws are very small and easy to grind Died after a month and a half
Overall Review: It simply stopped working one day. My HDD would start spinning and stop right after the moment it should have been detected and mounted on my computer. The blue LED would not work either. I used it in another enclosure and it worked just fine.
Meh

Pros: - Precise - Weight adjustment - Responsive L-R buttons
Cons: - Bad software - Bad mouse wheel - Slippery cover - Didn't order from Newegg
Overall Review: I've own this mouse since June 2010 to change my aging G7. Out of the package, that mouse looked excellent, what you'd expect Logitech to come up with. The fun started when I plugged it and installed the software. First, I couldn't get to save any profile. As soon as I rebooted my computer, they would get lost and I had to start all over again. I uninstalled it (Setpoint) and decided to stick with the standard DPI adjustments. I also experienced numerous gaming issues with it, where the mouse would simply stutter Secondly comes the infamous (inexistant) middle mouse button. Whenever I would click where I'd expect it to be, I would not get any "click" feedback. The wheel is also bad as it is WAY to sensitive in every way. I got sick of it and reassigned its function to another button, which in term prevented me from using three buttons. Thirdly is the cover, which is very slippery when your hands aren't sweaty as hell. They should have used this material for the pads.
Saved my life more than once

Pros: - Reliable - Can support my gaming rig - Will eventually save your computer
Cons: - None after three years of ownership
Overall Review: I bought about three years ago at a local retailer. A few months afterward, while working on an English thesis, our neighborhood went dark. The machine sent a few beeps and I thought it was broken only to figure out that the power was gone. I saved my homework and safely shut my computer (for those interested: 800W PSU, Q9550, 2G of RAM, GTX 275, XFX 750i mobo, 1 HDD + 2 DVD-drives +5x120mm fans with a 22" screen). At another occasion, I left my computer working while watching a movie during a power outage just to see how long it would last. Result: about 2m30s. Another reason to buy a an APC UPS (any one) Recently, I helped a friend with a computer BSOD, only to discover that their computer was shut off during an AV update because of a power outage. The data on the drive is irrecoverable since it won't even boot in safe mode or even let me use WinHex on it. They have to reinstall Windows again, formatting their hard drive in the process. Buy one. Any one. Now.
Best USB I owned so far

Pros: - Very small and light (compared to my other ones) - Enough for storage to make a small backup of my computer and more
Cons: - Weird design - Almost takes two USB slots on my macbook
Overall Review: I bought it a week ago when I realized my 8gb was full, even after a large cleanup, so I went to my local dealer and bought that one in rebate. The first thing that struck me was the design that was used for it: It's not a removable cap, it's a sliding one, sliding as in the whole part marked XT slides up and down to reveal the USB's opening. There is no cover for the head of the USB, meaning I'll probably have to clean it every 6 to 8 months. Big deal. Also, the speed on this thing is amazing. What took my old 8gb more than two hours (USB 2.0) to transfer roughly took 30 minutes on this one (~8.40gb, lots and LOTS of pictures + 348 songs) The only small cons is that it almost takes the second USB slot on my Macbook, which isn't a problem in itself since I only use them for backups and USBs, but it could become quite a nuisance for someone else. Beware. With the addition of the lifetime warranty, I am and will be recommending this brand of product to anyone searching a new
Awesome drive

Pros: - Very quiet - Fast - Price:Performance ratio - More than enough room for a single university student
Cons: - None
Overall Review: Bought it from a local dealer for Christmas last year to replace an aging 160gb HDD. It's currently filled to 60% and I'll complement it with an SSD during 2011. If yours doesn't work, RMA it before giving it five stars.
