AMD A10-7890K with AMD Wraith cooler Quad-Core Socket FM2+ 95W AD789KXDJCHBX Desktop Processor AMD Radeon R7

4 out of 5 eggs Great as long as your expectations match what it was made for. 08/08/2016

This review is from: AMD A10-7890K with AMD Wraith cooler Quad-Core Socket FM2+ 95W AD789KXDJCHBX Desktop Processor AMD Radeon R7

Pros: -Performs well across most all day to day items
-Handles batch photo processing well ( 650 30MB Raw Images, 3 adjustment edits used in batch processing)
-Great value for performance
-Okay mid range gaming when used with SSD and fast ram
-Rocks for media centers

Cons: -Tanks on the major graphics bench marks
-Doesn't seem to manage turbo core as well as previous iterations
-Another MOBO and this APU that still does not reflect the right temperatures on AMD Overdrive - seems to be an issue that will never be fixed

Other Thoughts: -This processor is made for a middle of the road gaming rig for most people (yes everyone defines middle differently - so do your research and select accordingly). Don't expect discrete level graphics performance - just won't happen
-Its cost effective - especially for mini-itx builds - one of the best integrated graphics so you don't have to take up the space with a graphics card and larger power supply
-Works well for its target user group - general everyday computing with middle road gaming when paired with fast ram and SSD

Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200) Desktop Memory Model 997123F

Pros: Works great @ 1600

Cons: Doesn't work @ 2400 as advertised, using xmp profile or manually setting timings. One ram stick would randomly drop out or memory errors would start when set above 1600. Not a MOBO issue as I have another brand of ram that is the same specs that works just fine when pulled and put into this build. The ram is stable at system defaults for 1600.

Other Thoughts: Always had good luck with Mushkin. This one the quality control seems to have missed their mark. Ordering another brand for replacement since I refuse to reward failure with another opportunity to fail.
