Pros: i bought this to replace defective units in a factory system. it perked the machine right up and seems to be running very smoothly now. =) the heat spreaders look kind of neat too.
Cons: none yet that i noticed.
Overall Review: the shipping pretty much blew. i opted for the cheapest shipping level and dhl never updated the tracking until they were delivered. i even called them and tried to get an update and was just told "they were on the truck".... considering dhl gave it to the post office for delivery, they should have just skipped them and done priority mail or something. i work for a living and it's nice to be able to figure out approximately when things are going to be delivered so i can be here to get them.
Pros: when it ran it seemed to run ok.... so i gave it 3 eggs.... see cons.
Cons: i stuck it in the machine and ran wow on it. it wasn't spectacular, but it's not a $500 card. the problem was it only ran about an hour and then it crashed and locked up. seemed pretty hot despite the fan, assuming it was a heat issue. removed it and stuck it back in to try to reset it. second time it only ran 1/2 hour or 45 minutes and exactly the same result. removed and rma'ed
Overall Review: wow really isn't an intensive game so i was kind of surprised when it locked up. wasn't going to break any seals on the card to check the thermal paste and risk losing the rma. it seemed like a heat issue tho.
thumb drive
Pros: seems to all be there and working, definitely not a counterfeit drive. verbatim is a good name and these were an excellent price for the size.
Cons: kind of easy for me to accidentally push the thing back in while you're trying to insert it. I just put my finger in the hole left by extending it to provide a little more support.
Overall Review: I use these to hold movies for my bluray player. they work exactly as advertised from all I can tell. I bought some from a less reputable vendor previously, and they could have lost my files for me if I hadn't had them backed up. I honestly didn't even know you could counterfeit a thumb drive/flash chip until I learned the hard way.
eggcellent!
Pros: ease of setup, seems to work excellently. great noise cancellation. I liked it so much I just bought a second one as a spare.
Cons: the earhook makes me a little nervous. seems a little flimsy overall, but I have a bad habit of stuffing the darn thing in my pocket when not in use. it seems like even if it broke that it's light enuf to use with no earhook at all. lets hope I don't have to test that theory tho. the buttons seem a little touchy, but lets ignore that for now, it might just be unfamiliarity. i'll write another review after the other one comes in and I have a chance to use it awhile.
Overall Review: my Jabra bt8010 finally was misplaced after years of use. it was getting harder and harder to find replacement earhooks for it anyway.
Pros: seems to be exactly as advertised. =) i've only burned a cd on it for now, but that was quick and flawless.
Cons: none
Overall Review: none
disappointed
Pros: unfortunately, none
Cons: DOA
Overall Review: being a longtime owner of an aspire super-alien case. the case originally came with an aspire/apevia see-thru power supply. that burned out after a couple years so i replaced it with the same unit. that unit burned out after about 6 months use with a long storage in the middle... i tried to do the "bigger, better, cheaper" thing and purchased this unit. unfortunately the unit came in DOA. it would have been a nice upgrade if the unit had fired up..... end result tho, i'm switching back to apevia. even with neweggs great RMA policies the machine has been dead an extra 2 weeks because of what appears to be a quality control issue..... i wish the unit had fired up. it would have upgraded me 100 to 180 watts over the apevia. but who wants to risk another 2 or more weeks turn around time when we're less than 2 weeks til x-mas? dead, new parts don't inspire confidence.....
