Wonderful board!

ASUS P8Z68-V LX LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS
ASUS P8Z68-V LX LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

Pros: I can't believe this board doesn't have a better overall rating!! I have built numerous systems over the last 25 years and this is by far the easiest build I have ever done. The set-up was simple and the driver updates flawless (with the exception listed below). And the i5-2500K that I paired it up wth overclocked to 4.2 Ghz on a stock cooler. Runs cool and is as stable as Mt. Everest. I am headed back to the computer store tomorrow to buy a Hyper 212 Plus cooler so I can push it a little higher. All in all the new build blows my older Core 2 Quad Q8400 system out of the water - mostly thanks to this motherboard.

Cons: The only hitch was when I went to update the BIOS and the Easy update in the BIOS setup refused to accept the file provided by Asus "Not a UEFI file" Go figure! It was the file provided by the ASUS website. SO I wound up having to create a DOS flashdrive and updating the BIOS from that. Not serious enough to dock it an egg thouch.

Overall Review: I would not hesitate to buy another or recommend it to my frineds.

Not so reliable

Seagate Desktop HDD ST500DM002 500GB N/A 16MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
Seagate Desktop HDD ST500DM002 500GB N/A 16MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Worked well while it lasted. Good performance.

Cons: Began to experience SMART error warnings when it was about three months old. I immediately did a full backup and installed a different boot drive using this drive for secondary backup only. Died when it was about six months old.

Overall Review: Good warranty support from Seagate but the first replacement (refurbished) drive they sent me was DOA. Called them immediately and they sent me another drive with a return shipping label at no cost to me. The second replacement works well, but it is only a month old. We'll see.

Nice budget card

Pros: A lot of bang for the buck! Reliable. Easy to install.

Cons: None

Overall Review: I installed this graphics card in a new build over a year ago and it is still running well. It paired very well with my I5-8600K and the Gigabyte Z370 motherboard. If you aren't a heavy gamer this will do the trick and the price is very reasonable. It will even handle moderate gaming without any hiccups. I also do a lot of video encoding and it handles that well too. I highly recommend this card.

Great product, great price! Highly recommended!

Pros: Easy to install. Excellent price ($109.99). Extremely fast

Cons: I can only install 1

Overall Review: I highly recommend this product. I received it 2 days after ordering and had it installed, formatted and running in less than an hour. My boot disk is a Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB drive and with Rapid mode turned off (the only way to truly compare drives) this drive blows it out of the water. CrstalDiskMark results: Samsung: Sequential Read (Q= 32,T= 1) : 546.663 MB/s Sequential Write (Q= 32,T= 1) : 533.225 MB/s Random Read 4KiB (Q= 8,T= 8) : 400.013 MB/s Random Write 4KiB (Q= 8,T= 8) : 362.302 MB/s Random Read 4KiB (Q= 32,T= 1) : 303.145 MB/s Random Write 4KiB (Q= 32,T= 1) : 283.858 MB/s Random Read 4KiB (Q= 1,T= 1) : 45.732 MB/s Random Write 4KiB (Q= 1,T= 1) : 113.062 MB/s Intel 660p: Sequential Read (Q= 32,T= 1) : 1934.680 MB/s Sequential Write (Q= 32,T= 1) : 1802.811 MB/s Random Read 4KiB (Q= 8,T= 8) : 625.277 MB/s Random Write 4KiB (Q= 8,T= 8) : 950.413 MB/s Random Read 4KiB (Q= 32,T= 1) : 587.776 MB/s Random Write 4KiB (Q= 32,T= 1) : 591.744 MB/s Random Read 4KiB (Q= 1,T= 1) : 56.408 MB/s Random Write 4KiB (Q= 1,T= 1) : 210.508 MB/s Add to that, it is 1 TB; twice as large as my Samsung drives. If the longevity of this drive is anything like all of my Samsung drives then it is a 100% win for me.

Great processor for the money.

Intel Core i3-4170 - Core i3 4th Gen Haswell Dual-Core 3.7 GHz LGA 1150 54W Intel HD Graphics 4400 Desktop Processor - BX80646I34170
Intel Core i3-4170 - Core i3 4th Gen Haswell Dual-Core 3.7 GHz LGA 1150 54W Intel HD Graphics 4400 Desktop Processor - BX80646I34170

Pros: Just built a system for a friend with this CPU, a GIGABYTE GA-B85M-DS3H-A LGA 1150 Micro-ATX motherboard and 8GB of Corsair Vengeance DDR-3 1600 RAM. I am very impressed with it to say the least. In 20+ years of building systems I have never seen such bang for the buck. Not experiencing any of the heat issues commented on by other reviewers. Temps range from 33 degrees C to 55 under normal loads. (For what it is worth to the other reviewers, Prime 95 is not normal loads.) But I did use a stock copper based heat sink and fan I had in my parts bin. The on-board graphics runs circles around most discrete budget cards I have used and even some mid-range cards. If you are looking for a decent buy in a budget CPU then you cannot go wrong with this one.

Cons: None

Great board at a bargain price

GIGABYTE GA-B85M-DS3H-A LGA 1150 Intel B85 HDMI USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
GIGABYTE GA-B85M-DS3H-A LGA 1150 Intel B85 HDMI USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: I bought one of these with an i3-4170, and 8GB of Corsair Vengeance DDR-3 1600 RAM to build a new desktop for a friend. Her computing needs are minimal, Office, web browsing, and some basic photo editing. I have no doubt this system will serve her well for several years. One thing that has impressed me is the number of adjustable settings in the BIOS. I would not hesitate to buy another and pick up a K type i5 or even i7 processor to replace my aging Sandy Bridge i7-2700K. Maybe time will change my opinion but as of now this board is a winner for me. If you are in the market for a budget system you can't go wrong using this board.

Cons: None
