snappy keys, easy cleaning, compact size with good weight
Pros: snappy keys, easy cleaning, compact size with good weight. since the board area beneath the keys isnt indented like many keyboards, it doesnt trap all the dust and other debris that is frustratingly hard to blow out normally (my favorite feature). the cord is removable via plug on the board, so you dont have to worry about trying to patch the thing if a wire breaks (about time someone made a board like this). It does have multimedia controls, and antighosting . The compact size leaves off the numberpad. Has a very solid feel and weight even with the compact size.
Cons: would be nice if it had some illumination colors, i miss the glowing blue leds of my razr black widow. that is my ONLY complaint. I LOVE THIS KEYBOARD!! (this is my 9th keyboard, ive tried many)
Seagate 7200.11 750GB - (Nice Drive, If Not A Dud)
Pros: The drive transfer rate is not bad...Vista's file move panel is reporting average of 65 MB/S when transferring between 2 of these hard drives, with SATA3 jumpering (although I cannot say for sure if vista is correct - may be faster than reported and I haven't tested with any other software). Temperatures are running a little lower than older Seagates - mine are tightly packed in the HD drive box, have a decent fan blowing air through the box, and are at about 100F at idle (as opposed to around 118 for older ones).
Cons: I have been reading of the seemingly high failure rates of these drives in other Newegg reviews and on other tech forums. I decided to purchase some anyways, so I bought a 1TB and a 750GB (32MB cache models). The drives were manufactured in 2 different countries. Using Seatools, both drives passed the SMART tests, however, using a monitoring program which displays ALL the information that SMART produces shows me that the 750GB is having a very bad error rate, and is using alot of ECC error correction. Hence,in the monitoring software the 1TB rates at 95% drive quality, while the 750GB is at 45% quality with a warning that it may fail. This is terrible for a brand new drive! I have an IDE drive that is 2 years old and only now is rating down to 95%.
Overall Review: I have sent the drive back (via Newegg's great customer service), and I hope that the quality from manufacturer to end user improves soon...an improvement in speed and features technology is useless if we cannot count on reliability of that product.
cleans plaque efficiently, uses brush heads from my old Sonicare Elite
Pros: Cleans better than a standard toothbrush, and the vibration is stronger than my other electric toothbrush as well as has more movements per second. My sonicare elite refused to charge after some time in storage and i failed to get it working after soldering in a new battery, so i had to purchase this one. I was glad that the brush heads from my old elite worked with this model.
Cons: I would rate it 5 stars but i do not like the fact that phillips does not offer easy battery replacement or even a service to do it cheaply after the warranty ends, as they would rather sell you another new toothbrush when your battery dies. This not only affects consumer wallets but also encourages waste, as more people will be tossing perfectly good toothbrushes into the garbage simply because they cannot change the battery.
Overall Review: Phillips should alter the design to make the batterys easily replaceable, or at least offer either a cheap battery replacement service, or a long-term brush handle exchange service
Slow N' Steady
Pros: Gets the job done eventually. Handles both laptop and desktop drives, have had no issues with it whatsoever when transferring over 1 TB at a time from internal hard drives to the docked drive. I havent ever noticed any drive errors / file corruption so seems to be working fine.
Cons: Slow; USB 2.0 on my computer takes 20 - 30 minutes to move 25GB to the docked drive. Had some issues using 2 of these docks at the same time on the same computer, where my computer would bluescreen / power off, but this may have had something to do with the USB controllers on the motherboard or my power supply. Just be sure to buy the double slot dock if you plan to transfer from one external drive to another.
Overall Review: Good price!
Like a snake. Fast And DEADLY
Pros: I got a pretty past transfer speed of 90 - 120 MB/s using ESATA. Ability to put 2 drives in one dock.
Cons: when connected using esata on several different drives with perfect smart health, bad sectors immediately started appearing in my drive monitoring software. due to the nature of the errors, i believe it is not correctly powering the drives, because the errors seen are usually related to improper power (too little or too much power). bad / weak sectors were noted, as well as other errors. stay away from this thing! i can not say if it causes the same errors when using usb 2, im somewhat afraid to put my drives in it again at this point but i didnt notice errors before when using that connection. usb 2 transfer speed pales in comparison to esata and takes forever to transfer large amounts of data.
Overall Review: Unlike many companies, Thermaltake requires proof of purchase to complete an rma, so if you dont remember where / when you purchased your dock by the time you realize its destroying your drives, you cant even get a replacement. i am out $60 for this piece of junk because of that policy.
great headphones
Pros: lightweight foam padding around ears is large enough my entire ear fits inside so theres no pressure that becomes painful after long hours wearing them. soft felt covers the padding. headband is thickly padded and the material is light enough it causes no pressure on top of your head. also doesnt pull my long hair (im a girl, and most headsets vinyl like material is grippy). good sound quality.
Cons: i had an 1D10T error at first when i didnt see the volume control on the headphones, thinking it was just the mic volume and assumed headphones were nonfunctional. as it turns out, the volume control wheel is on the side of the mic volume control. if all else fails, read the instructions...or even the back of the box...lol
Overall Review: super deal with neweggs daily sale and free shipping, only 20 dollah!
