CM Storm QuickFire XT - Full Size Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with CHERRY MX Blue/Green Switches
  • neweggOwned For: less than 1 day

Pros: First impressions written on the XT:
THANK YOU CM for coming through with making this keyboard. Having used a rapid, the quickfire XT is essentially a full sized quickfire rapid with some minor revisions, which is a great thing. Both are sturdy boards manufactured in Taiwan, have a nice rubberized finish, and are minimalistic in terms of features and appearance. The braided detachable full size USB to USB connector is a nice update to help dispel worries about poor connections over time. In addition, the overall keyboard height feels slightly slimmer which is nice for those that prefer not to use a separate wrist pad. For those who aren't familiar with the cherry mx switch types, the cherry mx blues provide a satisfying typing experience due to the tactile click. This is the keyboard to get for those looking for a compact, quality, full sized keyboard comparable to the higher priced Filco majestouch-2.

Cons: Like it or not, the font on the keycaps is more gamer oriented than it is standard. The lighting scheme is bright red for caps lock/etc (which can be a pro or con depending on taste).
