Cool and Quiet

WD Red Plus 2TB NAS Hard Disk Drive - 5400 RPM Class SATA 6Gb/s, CMR, 64MB Cache, 3.5 Inch - WD20EFRX
WD Red Plus 2TB NAS Hard Disk Drive - 5400 RPM Class SATA 6Gb/s, CMR, 64MB Cache, 3.5 Inch - WD20EFRX

Pros: I bought 2 drives, and they came in awesome packaging. I installed them in a desktop system and ran tests to insure that they were not DOA. Once they finished that i installed into my Synology 2bay system in a RAID 1 Config. They've been running 24/7 for 2 weeks as i send back-ups to it from remote offices. Drives run cool and quiet. I cant hear them over the other equipment in the room.... Update: had these 2 for couple years now and still running 24/7 no issues. and bought many more for 2 15 bay units and several 6 bay units. awesome. not a single dead drive yet

Cons: ...... price? lower RPMs? Nothing so far....

Overall Review: I was concerned about the seemingly high DOA rates I've been reading about, so far so good. Next up is a 12 bay NAS, so we will see how that goes....

there great!

Cons: its a inch and a half to tall to fit where i wanted to go, not a bad thing- just something to put in the con
