Up & Running in 10 Minutes

Pros: I may be somewhat hasty in my review of the PBO but I was so incredibly impressed with this device I felt compelled to leave my feedback after only one day of use. In hooked this device up to my 7.1 channel system last night in just 10 minutes. Upon turning the PBO on I instantly seen my 3TB WD external USB harddrive and all of the folders containing my movies in the onscreen navigation. We watched two movies in a row from the PBO and there was zero lag and stuttering. Flawless playback from start to finish and all in Dolby SS. Picture looked awesome on my LED TV as well. Another thing that impressed my was that while scrolling through the movies if you stop on one the device displays the movie in a PIP box so you can refresh your memory of what the movie was about.
Cons: None so far.
Overall Review: Would be great t see USB 3.0 supported on this device in the future. I would buy another one just for that option.
A Lot of Scanner for the Money

Pros: I purchased this scanner to replace my Canon scanner that I purchased from Newegg eight years ago. My old scanner took a full minute to scan a single page at 150dpi, but this gem takes less than 10 seconds. I scan a lot of photos from magazines and books and this scanner's rendering of images I tested through it yesterday were stunning. Color and contrast are spot on, auto adjustment functions on the images in Photoshop produce little or no change, which is my indicator of how well a digital imaging divise performs. Setup in Windows XP was as simple as could be. After using the oversimplified software associated with my old scanner I can see that I will have to spend some time learning the software for this scanner which is more complex. But as I indicated above, I was up and scanning high quality images in less than 30-minutes out of the box yesterday. Scanning of negatives was easy as well and the quality of the scans were excellent.
Cons: None yet. Only gave this scanner four stars because I have only had it for one day and have not had a chance to fully explore it's potential.
Overall Review: I was a little disaapointed with the way the scanner came packaged from Newegg. The scanner arrived in the manufacturer's box (not a problem) and box lid was not sealed in any way for shipment. In other words, if someone wanted to take something out of the box while in transit all they would have had to do is flip the little cardboard flap down and flip the lid open. I have been ordering from Newegg since 2003 and the is the first time anything like this has happened. I will continue to order from Newegg.
