4 out of 5 eggs third and final review - 8 months of use 11/13/2013

This review is from: Blu Dash 4.0 D270a 4 GB ROM, 512 MB RAM Black Unlocked Dual SIM Cell Phone 4.0"

Pros: The phone is still doing well. All of my review still stands.

I finally cracked the screen, I had it laying with my tools, and dropped a socket wrench on it. The top left corner has a crack across it. This is a pro because it still works fine, only the protective glass cracked.

Cons: The phone was starting to bog down after about 6 months, but an automatic cache clearer resolved this.

It is slow to connect to wi-fi; it will connect, but takes awhile.

Still on vs Android 4.0.4

Other Thoughts: If you are looking for a budget android phone, and are not concerned with the latest or fastest technology, then I would strongly recommend this phone.

I am using Red Pocket which backbones on AT&T, and get as good of coverage (voice and data) as my friend who has AT&T, but he pays twice as much. He uses a Samsung S3, which costs 3 times as more than the Blu Dash 4. While he has a newer version of Android available, and better hardware; with the games we both play, he gets no better performance than I do. But neither of us play graphics intense games.

SAGA 86 LB Digital Postal Shipping Scale 0.1 Oz Weight Postage W/AC USB M S Pro Model - Black

Pros: It is accurate, I pitted it against two other scales I own. It is spot on with scales at the post office

Cons: Not much to say here

Other Thoughts: If you need a scale, and this one fits your needs, I would recommend that you buy it.

4 out of 5 eggs Revised after a month of ownership 04/17/2013

This review is from: Blu Dash 4.0 D270a 4 GB ROM, 512 MB RAM Black Unlocked Dual SIM Cell Phone 4.0"

Pros: I still think the phone is great, and I would still recomend it. The screen looks great, it's crisp and vivid.
Phone calls have good sound quality.
Connects to my car's handsfree, and works great through it.
I have taken videos, and pictures, and they look good for a phone.
The phone looks good, feels as solid as any other phone. It's slim and light.
The price is a bargin for what you get.

Cons: There are NO accessories avalible for this phone. The only way to get a screen protector is to buy a universal one and cut it yourself (I cannot see me doing that).
The specs are poorly defined or straight out lies.
It only has 349680 kB RAM (which translates to 341 MB), not 512MBs as claimed.
The proccessor is stated as 1 GHZ DC. This should mean two 1GHZ cores, but in this case it is two 500MHZ cores.
1 GB of storage is dedicated for the phone, I would like to move half of this to useable storage, without rooting the thing.

If anyone has any information that my RAM and proccessr specs are wrong, please let me know. Especially how you got the information.

Other Thoughts: The phone does actually have 4GB of storage, with 2 GB for user data, 1 GB for phone storage, and 1GB hidden for system use.
My biggest complaints are the RAM and proccessor, as they are clearly mislabeld. In all honesty, for the price, I would buy this phone with the specs, as they are.
The phone still works well, even though the specs are not as high as stated. I will occassionaly get a little lag on some games, but what would you expect from this light of a device?
About the strength of the screen: I do not have any protection for the screen, and keep it into a bowl we toss our keys in (so I do not forget to grab it on my way to work). I keep it outside while chopping wood, building/fixing fences, doing automotive work (I have smeared oil on the thing more than once), and working on (and occassionaly geting to use) my tractor. In short, it does not have a sheltered life. Despite that, I have only managed to put one small scratch in the screen, that I only notice when I am cleaning the phone. To me, that is pretty impressive.
In conclusion, I would choose this phone again for the price vs. the competition and thier price.
For it's value, and function the phone still deserves 5 eggs, but looses one for the specs being exagerated.
