First set of gaming headphones
Pros: Comfortable, a 3 hour gaming session made my ears a bit warm, but not uncomfortable. Well made, I don't feel like I will break them. Easy set up. I switch between using them on my PS3 and Xbox360. The alternate sound presets are cool, but I use the main preset on both platforms. I think you get the best balance that way. The sound quality is great, with very little distortion. I have gotten distortion at high volume, but at that point, its too loud anyway. The lows are not bone shaking, but it is well balanced.
Cons: The swivels on the ear cups feel a bit flimsy. I have a really nice set of Sony monitors that feel the same way. That being said, I think if you refrain from chucking them across the room, you should be just fine. The surround sound is not as well defined as I would like. I get a general sense of direction in BF3, Space Marine, MW3 or GoW3, but not a head turning "what was that" reaction. That being said, I still like the effect. The reviews with issues placing the base station near a 2.4ghz wireless router are accurate. Mine was about 4 feet away diagonally and I was getting drop outs and chat distortion.
Overall Review: About the 2.4ghz interference. My first solution was to change channels. I tried ch1 through ch11 on my Linksys E2000. No luck. If I changed to 5ghz, the dropouts and distortion disappeared, but my iPhone/iPad lost wifi connectivity. My final solution was to grab my old Linksys WRT54GS and set it up in my office about 30 feet away as a Wifi access point. Problem solved. Now
Excellent for a MacBook Pro
Pros: Nice Styling, great build quality. Plenty of pockets for mouse, spare network hub and patch cables. Good padding for laptop, with comfy handles and shoulder straps. Exterior is made from 1000 denier Cordura, or somthing like that, and looks great after lots of use, and the zippers have yet to sprip on me.
Cons: Just a bit heavy with all loaded up, but I just need to work out more!
Overall Review: I worked at REI for several years, and spend some of those years in Customer Service. I NEVER saw Wenger bags and cases returned. That's saying something!
WOW, what a Processor
Pros: First AMD build, Intel guy before, and now I'm converted! FAST, Video ripping very fast and gaming is off the chart.
Cons: None.
Overall Review: Used with a Asus A8N-Deluxe MB AI OC very nice, no hickups in install.
NICE CASE
Pros: VERY QUITE in comparison to a standard ATX tower with 4 80mm fans. Almost as quite as a friends Koolance case. I like the seperate PSU enclosure (similar to the Lian Li V2100 case I have). Fans have 3 speed settings, L/M/H and have 2 (top above MB and back) on High and 120mm fan near PSU on medium.I installed a 4th 120mm infront of the HD cage. Washable filters a plus.
Cons: You have to remove the 120mm fan near the PSU and switch it to the other side of the bottom part if you want to use a modular PSU, and this renders the lower HD rack unusable.
Overall Review: Best case so far, I don't know what other reviewers are complaining about with a noise issue, very quite, I can bearly hear it over typing on my keyboard. AMD 3800+ Dual Core Asus A8N SLI-Deluxe MB nVidia 7800GT 256mb 2gigs Kingston PC3200 ANTEC Smartpower 2.0 500W Modular PSU
Sweet card!
Pros: Wow, what a difference! I upgraded from a nVidia GeForce FX 5800 128mb to this, and all I can say is, WOW! Frame rates in WoW in IF at prime time never drop below 40FPS and HL2 is unbelivable, EVERYTHING is turned on, with no lags or stutters. Yeah, the 7800GTX has more ram and higher clock speeds, and the 7900s are just around the corner, but I feel that it is better to stay cutting edge, NOT bleeding edge.
Cons: 1st Card caused the computer to not start up, RMA'd to EVGA and installed new card, now works like a charm!
