Great card for the money...and no fan noise!
Pros: * Passive Cooling * 512 Megs of Ram * Plenty of graphics horsepower for most of today's games (and all of yesterday's)
Cons: Cooling fins were a little loose when I unboxed the item, but they're not coming off of the card - just flex a little. Haven't experienced any problems due to this, just something to note.
Overall Review: I'd buy the card again. No fan noise, great graphics power (Vista likes it plenty), low power requirements if you're looking to save some money on your energy bill.
Vista + DVI = You don't want this monitor.
Pros: Bought this monitor to hook up to DVI and Vista Premium. Picture quality is fantastic. Speakers are good enough for what they are. Good price.
Cons: If you use the DVI port and Vista, every time it checks to see whether you want to do something (and darkens the screen temporarily), the monitor will blank to black. Using VGA, this does not happen. The first monitor I received did this, and in a few days would no longer stay turned on - so I sent it back. The second monitor also has the DVI+Vista issue, but is staying on. **Note: VGA+Vista works fine. No screen blanking.
Overall Review: Simply put: If you want Vista and to use the DVI input, get another monitor. Otherwise, this one is fine.
Good motherboard.
Pros: Never tried an AMD chipset before so I took the risk - stable so far. Audio works well. What more could you ask for?
Cons: None.
Overall Review: When I bought it, the specs didn't mention having solid caps...but it has them. Added bonus!
Great performer
Pros: Great performance under linux and Windows. Good price/$ ratio.
Cons: None
Overall Review: I also own the Socket 939 version of the X23800 and have enjoyed both chips. Great performers for excellent value.
Good solid mobo
Pros: *This board was paired with an Athlon X2 3800 and 1 gig of Kingston (single channel). Installed under Ubuntu fantastic! Sound, network, everything picked up great. Nicely laid out. Only thing I wish it had were pin headers for firewire. No biggie though. *Also installed Windows XP and the unified driver was a nice addition.
Cons: *That same unified driver for Windows XP installs the Nvidia firewall (yuck) *Also under Windows XP - noticed sound artifacts when moving windows around on screen. This seems to be a driver issue as this doesn't happen under Ubuntu. Could only hear sound artifacts with headphones on in quiet room.
Overall Review: Great board for my purposes (Linux Media Center/Server). Would definitely buy again if given the reason to. Onboard DVI is handy.
