Excellent Value and Performance

AMD Ryzen 5 1st Gen - RYZEN 5 1600X Summit Ridge (Zen) 6-Core 3.6 GHz (4.0 GHz Turbo) Socket AM4 95W YD160XBCAEWOF Desktop Processor
AMD Ryzen 5 1st Gen - RYZEN 5 1600X Summit Ridge (Zen) 6-Core 3.6 GHz (4.0 GHz Turbo) Socket AM4 95W YD160XBCAEWOF Desktop Processor

Pros: General: -6 cores with 12 threads -DDR4 RAM support -Very easy installation Performance: -Less than 45% maximum usage when playing games (I mainly play PUBG, Battlefield 1, and R6 Seige) -Recording with software such as OBS or Bandicam barely affects FPS (only about 5-7% in my experience) -Completely lag free experience in Sony Vegas and REAPER for video and audio production

Cons: -Runs slightly warmer than I was expecting, but I am only using the entry level Cooler Master AIO water cooler (Masterliquid Lite 120), but still cooler than ye ole FX-6350 haha

Overall Review: I built myself a new system based around this CPU and my Sapphire AMD R9 280X Toxic GPU (scavenged from my previous build), and I have zero complaints. The new system is used for gaming, video editing, and audio production, and this Ryzen chip handles it with flying colors. My previous system was based around an FX-6350 OC'd to 4.3GHz, but this CPU blows that chip out of the water stock. The cooler install was also very painless thanks to the hook system that AM4 seems to mount coolers on, which is just an added bonus.

Great Board for the New AM4 Platform

MSI B350 TOMAHAWK AM4 AMD B350 USB 3.1 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard
MSI B350 TOMAHAWK AM4 AMD B350 USB 3.1 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: -Awesome layout makes the build easier than ASUS board I've always used in the past. -LED detailing looks cool -Easy to use BIOS -Easy to update BIOS (You MUST do this after receiving your board. AM4 is a completely new chipset and MSI seems to be releasing BIOS updates fairly frequently to combat the issues that result from this)

Cons: -A header for the front panel I/O would have been nice to see to make it easier to install those pesky little pins, but not necessary by any means -Manual wasn't the best, so new system builders definitely need to use resources such as YouTube and the various forums to get help beyond the basics

Overall Review: Again, be sure to update your BIOS regularly. So far it has been a great board for my Ryzen 1600X chip.

Solid and Reliable HDDs

WD Blue 1TB Desktop Hard Disk Drive - 7200 RPM SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5 Inch - WD10EZEX
WD Blue 1TB Desktop Hard Disk Drive - 7200 RPM SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5 Inch - WD10EZEX

Pros: -Cheap and reliable storage drives for everyday use

Cons: -Not the prettiest looking, but most HDDs aren't haha

Overall Review: I've used these drives in 11 systems over the past three years and had zero problems with any of them.

Best Case I've Ever Built In

NZXT S340 Elite Black/Red Steel/Tempered Glass ATX Mid Tower Case
NZXT S340 Elite Black/Red Steel/Tempered Glass ATX Mid Tower Case

Pros: -The case looks incredible. The minimalist exterior design pairs very nicely with the tempered glass side panel -The entire left side panel is entirely tempered glass... Add a matching LED strip to the top of the case and it is simply beautiful and makes for an excellent conversation piece -Very roomy and easy to build in -No hard drive racks or DVD drive slots to get in the way and clutter the interior of the case -Best cable management I've ever had in a case (mainly NZXTs and Cooler Master cases in the $60-$100 range) -The colored metal shroud hides the power supply and any extra cables if you have a non modular PSU like me -SSD mount on the side of the shroud to put your SSD on display -Hides any ugly HDDs in a rack underneath the shroud (still gets plenty of airflow from the front of the case -LED around the power button matches the 'theme' color of the case -Tall rubber feet allow plenty of breathing room for the PSU

Cons: -Not really a 'con' so to speak, but the tempered glass panel is an absolute fingerprint magnet, so have a nice cloth on standby -Only 2 case fans included, and they aren't of the quality that I'd expect at this price point. I would recommend dropping some extra money on some nicer Corsair fans if possible. -Only one fan mount on the top of the case, so radiators larger than a single 140mm will have to be mounted on the front in the intake slots

Overall Review: I bought the red version of this case and added a basic red LED light strip on the roof of the case. That combined with the red LED accents on the MSI B350 Tomahawk motherboard makes for a very sharp looking build if I do say so myself. I've built 11 systems over the past three years using a variety of cases from NZXT and Cooler Master, and I have to say that the overall build quality and building experience on this case was by far the best. Also, the full tempered glass side panel really is worth the extra money if aesthetics matter to you at all. Myself, I always feel better when my equipment looks nice, and my computer is no exception. I highly recommend this product.

Solid Case Fans

Corsair Air Series AF140 140mm Quiet Edition High Airflow Case Fan Single Pack(CO-9050009-WW)
Corsair Air Series AF140 140mm Quiet Edition High Airflow Case Fan Single Pack(CO-9050009-WW)

Pros: -Works and works quietly as advertised -The interchangeable color rings seemed gimmicky at first, but after building my system and setting up my red LED case lighting, putting on the red rings actually made a nice touch.

Cons: -The cables could do with being about an inch and a half longer (not really a complaint though haha)

Overall Review: I got three of these for my NZXT S340 Elite case (2 intakes and top exhaust) and they are much quieter and higher quality than the ones that came with the case.

Solid for the Price

Cooler Master MasterLiquid Lite 120 AIO CPU Liquid Cooler, White Led Pump, FEP Tubing, 120mm Air Balance MF, Dual Dissipation Technology
Cooler Master MasterLiquid Lite 120 AIO CPU Liquid Cooler, White Led Pump, FEP Tubing, 120mm Air Balance MF, Dual Dissipation Technology

Pros: -Works (lol) -Smaller form factor makes mounting easy in pretty much any case -LED on the CPU block is a nice touch that makes the product look more expensive than it is -Quieter than any aircooling systems that I've ever used (Hyper 212 EVOs mainly)

Cons: -The fan that it came with was louder than I expected, but it was irrelevant since I was planning on replacing it with a Corsair radiator fan regardless -It doesn't cool quite as well as I was expecting it to, but the only AIO coolers I've used in the past were also two and three times the price so I was probably just a bit biased.

Overall Review: This cooler paired nicely with my Ryzen 1600X CPU. I honestly did not know that there an LED on the CPU block when I purchased it, so I was pleasantly surprised when the ice white LED kicked on the first time I booted the system. I would probably avoid this cooling solution if you intend on doing any major overclocking on your CPU, but other than that, you can't go wrong for the price.
