excellent support
Pros: I had a few questions and called tech support, wow, fast answers, in English, clear explanations, no run around, no delay. It helps to call at 7:30a.
Cons: Thought that since it did Raid 0 and 1, that it was a raid card, it is not. It is a controller card that uses windows to create raid, just like you would without the card.
kinda slow
Pros: It works! Looks cool and snazzy. Has an extra USB port.
Cons: Kinda slow, with a Ridata 4GB PRO 150x card which normally downloads at 17MB/sec, this reader transfers at 3.75 MB/sec, even slightly slower after you install the drivers at 3.7 MB/sec. If what you want to do is transfer data from a card to the computer, it might be worth your time dragging out a USB cable and another card reader. Estimated download time for 1-4GB card? 16 minutes.
Heat sink does not fit my 1151 processor?
Pros: Nice and big
Cons: Why does this cooler not fit my 1151 processor? Its too big. This fan was recommended by Newegg for an 1151 socket. Except the copper heat sink that sits right on top of the CPU is too big for the CPU, the CPU sits in a cradle with a metal retainer around it, making it impossible for the heat sink to lie flat on top of the processor.
Mine failed too
Pros: I bought it cause it was the least expensive and sure enough, it wont format for an OS. First, windows installer cant delete format a previous partition (under UEHI?) and when it does, installs windows and reboots for the first time to start windows, the drive is simply missing. Calling Mushkin left only the option to leave a message which is not tech support. When a dead end is reached so soon after a product just fails, they get the lowest rating.
Cons: failed after little use
Freaking Amazing
Pros: Freaking amazing. With the Asus P8Z77 Mini ITX board you get 1600x2560 AND 1200x1920 AND 1200x1920 resolutions all without a graphics card. Freaking amazing.
Cons: not free
perfect for a mini ITX build
Pros: well made unique item small form factor price, was only $80
Cons: be sure to use the very short short screws that come with it. I put in longer screws at first and they went through the side and touched the trays and I couldn't remove them.
Overall Review: With smaller boards and drives doing the same work as older larger ones, its perfect for raid, until SSD prices come down. Bought mine at yes, Micro Weenie in Chitown.
