Pros: 4K HDR performance at an affordable price - the image quality is significantly better than the 1080p unit it replaced, even if it is not a native 4K, I can't see a difference from 4K displays I have, but projected at a much larger size. Elegant black package and whisper quiet - went into a family room largely dedicated as a home theater with dark walls and blackout curtains, where this unit looks perfect in its matt finish black case and sleek profile. Moreover, you can barely hear the unit when the sound system is muted, and certainly can't hear it with any audio playing. Very bright with vivid color. Again, this unit is in a dark room, but I do often have light spilling from the adjacent room from behind the project. The older lamp-based Sony VPL-H!10 I had previously always generated a washed out image with this ambient light. The X100-4k is significantly brighter with no perceived influence of the light coming from the back of the room. Day or night, this project generates a very vivid and seemingly high contrast image. I was a bit worried reading numerous reviews about it having poor contrast - I can not perceive any issue, however. A calibrated the brightness using the AVS HD 709 test patterns, and am able to get deep appearing black, particularly after turning on Dynamic Black 2 lamp mode. HDR content looks amazing on this projector. LED lamp rated for 30,000 hours - I am happy to never have to replace a bulb again. What's more, the lamp intensity should remain largely unchanged over years of use, which cannot be said of lamp-based projectors. Horizontal and vertical lens shift functionality is ample. The online manual is confusing with regard to the vertical lens shift - it wasn't clear that I could translate the image down enought with the unit mounted upside down from the ceiling. However, there was plenty of vertical play available. I have the top of my screen sitting about 4" below the center of the X100-4k's lens, and I had no problem getting the image down to the screen. Motorized focus is a nice touch - makes setting up focus a breeze. Ample image settings allows the user plenty of flexibility to calibrate the unit. I've used basic test patterns to fine tune general image settings. The unit allows the user to easily adjust RGBCMY color settings independently for CMS calibration too. Firmware updates are available and easily installed.

Cons: The 1.2x zoom presented a challenge with mounting. I had to reposition my existing mount 16" (1 ceiling joist) closer to the screen to fit my screen. Use Viewsonic's online distance calculator to ensure you can mount the projector and achieve the screen size you desire. The remote is not that great - the sensitivity of the buttons and coarseness of the selection dial are poor. That said, I plan to use a universal remote with the projector anyways. 1 year lamp warranty - this is a lifetime lamp, so it is unclear why they would not cover that component for the full 3 year warranty period on the remainder of the projector. This does worry me about unexpected lamp failure. The user manual (would have been nice if a paper copy came with the projector) lacks enough detail to fully appreciate all options available. The mounting screw holes are distance far apart, which can cause a problem with many mounts. Pay attention to the separate 2D drawing file available for download on Viewsonic's website - the user manual does not give the distance dimensions.

Overall Review: Overall, I am very please with the unit thus far. It has an amazing image, is very bright for a room with the curtains closed, and offers a no-lamp option at an affordable price. Again, I was worried about all the complaints about low contrast capabilities, but I have not been bothers by the contrast at all. Indeed, with Dynamic Black 2 mode set, my eye sees black as black, not gray as others have described. What's more, with the brightness setting calibrated, you still see fine detail within dark scenes. Overall, if you are looking for a solid state 4K capable projector that looks and sounds (quiet) the part for a low-budget home theater, this unit is a great option.

Pros: The device is very reasonably priced as an entry NAS. The unit has all the basic features plus extra functionality you'd expect from one of QNAPs more expensive home NAS boxes. If you are looking to use the box as a remote, mirrored share drive, this will work perfectly. The unit runs a full-function version of QTS with access to a wide array of QNAP and 3rd party apps. It is also compact, allowing easy placement just about anywhere.

Cons: The Quad processor is just not powerful enough to take ready advantage of some of the more attractive features for home users. For example, the QiMagie software from QNAP is a great idea for organizing and accessing your image/video archive; however, the limited processing ability of this device means a very slow import process with numerous hiccups along the way. This is a bigger issue if you desire to stream video content using Plex or similar software - without GPU processing, this unit is far too slow to provide dependable streaming even to one device. It is also unfortunate that QNAP has not developed useful software for viewing images / media on streaming devices like Roku, forcing the user to use 3rd party apps like Plex. The unit also had a bug such that when powered off, it would spin up the two disks every few minutes, and then when spun up, would shut them off... I could not reliably shut off the unit without unplugging the power cord. A major utility of such a device is to provide regular backup of images/data from mobile devices. While the Qsync software and to a lesser extent Qfile / QiMagie all offer various degrees of image backup / synchronization, functionality is highly limited with iPhone/iPads when compared with Android devices. Lastly, QNAP has not kept up with documentation on their software. While they have a wide variety of videos to advertise what you can do with various software packages, it is much harder to find helpful directions on how to configure the software on various devices. A lot of time is spent trying to figure out what each QNAP app is intended to do distinct from other QNAP apps and how to properly set that app up.

Overall Review: If you are looking for a reasonably priced device to offer file sharing, particularly for PCs, then this device will work well. Otherwise, if attracted by the advertised ease of media archiving from mobile devices or streaming functionality, then I'd expect that you will be equally disappointed and rather frustrated.

Pros: Economical option that was easy to install and produces a vivid HD image. Installed on Windows 10 without any problem (automatically found the necessary drivers).

Cons: The included microphone is awful - sounds like you're in a tunnel. I bought two of these and both have this issue. The privacy shutter is cheap.

Overall Review: If you're planning to use a separate microphone, then consider this camera as a reasonable option for the money.

Pros: Batteries needed for backup-power within low-temp freezers where they sit close to compressors and other heat-generating equipment. For years I'd have to replace standard 12V SLA's within a year. So far these batteries are showing no sign of degradation under these hot conditions.

Cons: None thus far.

Overall Review: If you need a 12V SLA to use in a hot environment, pay a little more and get these batteries. Should pay off in the long run.

Pros: Enclosure does what you expect of it with minimal hassle. Disk throughput is as expected and steady.

Cons: I have had issues on some, though not all, systems where a drive letter is not automatically assigned to the disk within this enclosure. I am able to go under control panel in Windows and manually assign a letter, but this is a bit annoying. The disassembly / assembly of the enclosure to install drives is a bit cumbersome.

Pros: Item extends the ability to transmit USB data over 30 feet with no issues.

Cons: None

I purchased a refurbished (clean pull) RAID controller with the first being dead-on-arrival. The response from Chris at The Server Store was immediate and fully responsive. Replacement board works great.
