Solid product
Pros: Excellent HTPC solution: optical output into receiver, HDMI to TV, low power consumption of core i3 platform, acceptable integrated graphics... The labeling on the board is done with passion -- front panel connector pin labels are colored.
Cons: The "vindictive" reviewer was correct: the distance between the video output is minimal. I had no HDMI until I have read his review and, sure, the cable plug was against the other port elevated screw hole. After applying little force it went all the way through and made a contact. Hooray, I have HDMI now! Also I was considering JetWay as it is the only board on the market having coaxial output in addition to optical (I just had one extra cable which might have save me $10).
Overall Review: This is my second board this year, and in both cases I'm underwhelmed by the manual print quality. Perhaps DG35EC by Intel that I've bought two years ago set wrong expectations, as I may have thought that in two years every manufacturer would copy this; alas, no.
No better than stock i5 cooler
Pros: Works
Cons: Useless: not PWM, spins at 2300 rpm making lots of noise even when processor is idle; i5 stock which it replaced was PWM. There is mfr disclaimer why they don't use PWM. Ironically, the explanation is the same on all their products: be it tiny 70 mm fan for this heatsink, or huge (and therefore slow spinning, silent) 140 mm case fan. I read it as thinly veneered cost saving.
Overall Review: I ended up unscrewing the fan, and put 120 mm on top.
OK case
Pros: Size, weight, vented front panel
Cons: Weight, wasted drive cages space, no 140mm holes drilled. Is there a single buyer who mounted 2 DVD drives in mini tower? I don't even need one. Today DVD existence is warranted for only one thing: installing Win 7. After that just throw DVD drive into garbage bin. Next, does anybody need more than one SSD and HD? Mounting all those obsolete drives that user might have accumulated over the years is just waste of performance and energy.
Overall Review: Ended up ripping off the drive cages, and mounted 2 140mm fans in front. Had to custom mount HD+SSD...
Too expensive
Pros: Great update from 24" both resolution and screen size wise.
Cons: Doesn't withstand cost/benefit analysis. Price for 30" held steady for 3 years already -- this is a misnomer in tech world. Today one can purchase a pair of good-enough 46" 1080p LCD TVs for the price of one 30" monitor?
Works -- sort of
Pros: Features: using it as HTPC.
Cons: - optical output is stereo only (VIA driver issue) - have problems with cold boot. I have to figure out yet if it's temperature sensitivity (it doesn't start after being shut down for the night), or something messed up with this "instant boot" feature (which I didn't set up).
Overall Review: Considering RMA if the second issue not solved...
Widescreen madness
Pros: Medium screen size, medium screen resolution, compact, exactly what I'm looking for.
Cons: Apparently 16:10 aspect ratio was not good enough and manufacturers today are pushing 16:9. Hello??? This is a computer, not a movie projector. For this reason I prefer Samsung 12.1" netbook which has 800 pixels of vertical resolutions.
