Monster CPU

AMD FX-8150 - FX-Series Zambezi 8-Core 3.6 GHz Socket AM3+ 125W Desktop Processor - FD8150FRGUBOX
AMD FX-8150 - FX-Series Zambezi 8-Core 3.6 GHz Socket AM3+ 125W Desktop Processor - FD8150FRGUBOX

Pros: It's a beast! Anyone purchasing this that has a brain will toss out the heatsink or keep it as a spare for a cheaper system and will put some real cooling on this monster. It can be cranked up easily and it does perform much better once OC'd. Running between 4.4 and 4.6Ghz is really easy, runs cool, and very stable although I keep mine higher. For games and everyday tasks it's just amazing how fast it runs. I have a 3930K (also OC'd) and it runs pretty close for most of the tasks I put my computers through. This CPU due to its design fails hardcore during benchmarks but I didn't pick it up to run benchmarks

Cons: Due to the design, many applications do not use the full potential of the processor. Heatsink that comes with it isn't enough but anyone purchasing a high-end CPU shouldn't be using stock cooling.

Overall Review: Hard to beat for the price and it has a ton of potential if you OC it.

Crazy powerful!

Intel Core i7-3930K - Core i7 3rd Gen Sandy Bridge-E 6-Core 3.2GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 2011 130W Desktop Processor - BX80619i73930K
Intel Core i7-3930K - Core i7 3rd Gen Sandy Bridge-E 6-Core 3.2GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 2011 130W Desktop Processor - BX80619i73930K

Pros: There is very little out there that you will see that can top this CPU. It's expensive but to pass it requires way more money just for the CPU and then the motherboards will be expensive. Can easily OC this and it gains huge boosts in benchmarks and actual use performance while running cool.

Cons: Doesn't come with a heatsink but who uses the stock cooling with a high end processor?

Overall Review: Amazing performance and we have yet to see anything from Ivy Bridge that can match it. Guess we'll have to wait for the next batch of CPU's to see if Intel can beat their own product.

Great board for OC

ASUS Sabertooth X79 LGA 2011 Intel X79 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS Sabertooth X79 LGA 2011 Intel X79 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: 2011 board so it's full of features, love the color over my previous Crosshair V red board. BIOS is incredibly easy to navigate and it is very stable when you OC.

Cons: Due to the design to support 8 DIMMs it doesn't have as big of a heatsink for Vcore, they try to make up for this by running a heatpipe to a tiny heatsink with a tiny fan. it does a good job of cooling but it doesn't stay as cool. Not really a big con as it's only a slight difference.

Overall Review: Great board for the price, 2011 boars are expensive and this board has tons of features without cranking the price too high. Long warranty from ASUS is a nice bonus but I doubt the board will die while under warranty.

Powerful Card that runs cool

XFX Double D Radeon HD 6950 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card HD-695X-CDFC
XFX Double D Radeon HD 6950 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card HD-695X-CDFC

Pros: Runs very cool, I run the fans around 80% without adding any noise from the system. Card runs great for any games I throw at it and it stays nice and cool.

Cons: It is a big card, anyone purchasing this should be running a decent sized system for gaming anyway so that should not be a problem.

Overall Review: 2 fans that are silent, heatpipes that do their job and look good, and a decent price before it was discontinued. Should last me until I decide I need even more power.

Powerful fans

Scythe SY1225SL12SH "Slipstream" Case Fan
Scythe SY1225SL12SH "Slipstream" Case Fan

Pros: Really powerful and work great running around 50-60% power. I have them set to only go faster if the heat at certain points of the system hit high levels.

Cons: Really loud when running at full speed but they are pushing a ton of air.

Overall Review: Recommend using these with a fan controller as they are loud when running full speed but at lower speeds they still push more air than most when they are maxed out.

High powered cooling

Scythe Slip Stream Kaze Maru2 140 series SM1425SL12H 140mm Case Fan
Scythe Slip Stream Kaze Maru2 140 series SM1425SL12H 140mm Case Fan

Pros: Fits 120 and it's quiet for the amount of air that it moves.

Cons: The 120mm fans from Scythe seem to push more air at low speed. I never run these at max other than to test the limits of the system.

Overall Review: Work great but I'll stick to the 120mm fans from Scythe
