Unacceptable data loss

OCZ Vertex 4 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) VTX4-25SAT3-128G
OCZ Vertex 4 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) VTX4-25SAT3-128G

Pros: The drive was cheap.

Cons: Purchased from Am@z0n to save shipping cost. The drive died 1.5 weeks after purchase installation. System powered off, upon reboot bios would not detect the drive... subsequent reboots results in intermitten bios detect. Attempts to upgrade firmware from 1.4.2 to 1.5 failed. Come to think of it, i also have a dead OCZ thumb drive on my desk. People on #hardware @freenode confirm that OCZ drives are error prone. Also, while the drive was working, it didn't feel much faster than my velociraptor.

Overall Review: Dont risk data loss, buy a Samsung SSD or a velociraptor mechanical drive.

THESE HUM BAD!

ALTEC LANSING VS4121BLK 31 Watts 2.1 Speakers
ALTEC LANSING VS4121BLK 31 Watts 2.1 Speakers

Pros: The speakers look very nice and the controls are conveniently located

Cons: I had to return these speakers because they hum really bad. The sub-woofer lacks a grounding plug so line distortion causes bad low-frequency noise. Additionally, they lacked mid-range tones and bass sounded excessively muddled (turned down bass knob to about 25%).

Overall Review: Ended up ordering RAZER Mako 2.1 speakers. I'm replacing my 10 year old 60W SDTA Multimedia speakers (generic) which still work. Based on reviews (and previous experience) Logitech equipment has a low production quality and are defect prone.

Poor Manufacturing Quality

Crucial Ballistix 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model BL2KIT25664BA1336
Crucial Ballistix 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model BL2KIT25664BA1336

Pros: Good heat spreader design.

Cons: This memory never operated successfully at the reported timings 6-6-6-20 @1.8v. I was only able to get it to run at 7-7-7-24 @1.8v. It ran at this speed for about 55 days and now 1 of the modules has failed. The remaining ram will now only run at 9-9-9-24 @1.8v which is about the same as the far cheaper kingston chips I picked up from a local retailer.

Overall Review: My Shuttle is a Shuttle SX48P2-Deluxe with an Intel Q9650 Quad 3.0ghz processor (333mhz *9.0).
