Pros: This was my first surveillance dvr and it didn't take very long to set up and see the dvr on my LAN. Learned a lot about networking and routers to get this to work on the internet. Pretty low price for a 4 camera dvr.

Cons: Connecting up to the internet took much longer than expected. Mainly because I didn't know you couldn't use your own IP internet address to call up your own dvr. I called Rosewill service a few times with network questions and they were somewhat helpful, but did not solve my problem. The manual doesn't explain anything about the functionality of most controls. It was pretty much useless, and you have to learn by trial and error. I'm still not sure about most of the controls. I learned a lot about dvr set up and networking by watching YouTube.

Pros: Worked great for 5 minutes, at least there were lots of bars, lots of wireless sites. Im not sure whether I was actually receiving a signal from the trendnet or if it was my other wireless card, or if the unit was just giving a false signal. Wasnt on long enough to find out. Newegg did credit my account, Thank you.

Cons: worked for 5 minutes.

Overall Review: There is a good reason that this item is available for under ten dollars after rebate. You get what you pay for. Spend the extra cash and get a good product.

Pros: Its pretty accurate, boiling water measured 211 degrees at sea level. Starts in degrees F.

Cons: The description says "instant readout" and I did see an instant readout when I turned it on. Unfortunately is takes 13 seconds to get an accurate reading.

Cons: Red LED stays on continuously, adds 4 removable disks to my C: drive. The reason that I wanted a card reader, and worst problem of all, it does not have a slot for a micro-SD card, even though it mentions this in the specifications.

Pros: Usually it works, I assembled a new fast computer with Win 7, 64 bit. I have recorded about 100 hours of VHS and 8 mm casettes. I upgraded the driver to 64 bit.

Cons: The Encore has completely frozen up my computer about every other tape that I record. It seems to have complete control of my system. I have to do a hard reset followed by a manual reset to start my system again. Its the only piece of equipment that locks up my computer. This makes it very tedious to record video. Hoping I can finish before it dies and a I am over the 30 day return time limit.

Actually took 13 seconds to get an accurate reading on boiling water.
