Mushkin Enhanced 1GB DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Memory for Apple Notebook Model 971504A
Mushkin Enhanced 1GB DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Memory for Apple Notebook Model 971504A

Pros: does what it's supposed to, works in the macbook

Cons: none

Overall Review: Got this for my wife's macbook which only had 1 gb of memory. It now has 2 and multitasking is noticeably smoother/faster.

Most Critical Review

Seems to work well enough, but mind the layout feels a bit cramped

Adesso AKB-120EB SlimTouch 3 RGB colors illuminated compact size USB keyboard with multimedia hot keys, 2X large print keycap
Adesso AKB-120EB SlimTouch 3 RGB colors illuminated compact size USB keyboard with multimedia hot keys, 2X large print keycap

Pros: Good feature set for reasonable price. Key presses feel decent, not superb but pleasant to use. RGB back light with multiple brightness levels

Cons: For the multimedia volume keys and the LED brightness keys, quieter/dimmer are on the right, louder/brighter on the left. This is a minor thing I guess, but seems backwards to me. My biggest gripe is I'm having a hard type getting used to it (only had it 2 days though). The reason is, instead of a large backspace, it's a small backspace next to a small home key. I keep hitting home instead of backspace, like all the time. The arrow keys are not in a separate area but right next to the right shift. Again, sort of jams a bunch of keys all together and it's throwing me off. I feels like maybe the whole keyboard is a bit smaller than the mk320. Space bar is smaller for sure. I'll try and update in a week or so, I expect I'll get used to the new layout by then. On the other hand, I've got this one keyboard at work that's sort of similar in how it's an odd layout, and I've never adjusted to it.

Overall Review: I'd recommend if you're on a tight budget and the above cons don't sound like something that would bother you. Otherwise, spend a bit more to get something that doesn't have such a cramped feel as a result of key placement.

Mine hasn't exploded

GIGABYTE GP-P850GM 850 W ATX 12V v2.31 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active (>0.9 typical) PFC Power Supply
GIGABYTE GP-P850GM 850 W ATX 12V v2.31 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Active (>0.9 typical) PFC Power Supply

Pros: Just figured I'd wrote about my experience since it seems the reviews here tend to be from folks who had problems. I've been running this PSU with a 3090 card and 3700x CPU since Nov 2020. I game probably 1 or 2 hours a day most of the time. And I work from home on this PC. So it gets probably 60 hrs of use per week. So far, so good (touch wood lol). So I can't in good conscience post a bad review since for me this unit has been just fine. Only give 4 stars because there's no management capabilities and also because additional connectors are impossible to find and gigabyte won't sell them to you. If I were buying again I'd avoid it just to be safe. But I can't really complain.

Cons: No usb connection for logging power and temp. Cables can't be purchased for it.

Overall Review: I would not recommend it to others based on the issues with failures that others have seen. It's better to be safe. But except for that it's been a good unit.

Great so far

ASRock Z77M LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
ASRock Z77M LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Z77 chipset, multiple fan headers, reasonable price

Cons: only 2 memory slots, comes with some bloatware, use care installing only what you want

Overall Review: The main thing I wanted to mention is that I thought I bent the CPU socket pins when I opened up the socket to remove the black plastic dummy plug, but about half of the pins in the socket are apparently supposed to be bent somewhat. After looking carefully I saw they were bent all the same say at a perfect angle that couldn't have been caused by bumping it, so I installed the CPU and fired it up. Everything works fine, ran Prime95 for 10 minutes with no errors. So, don't panic if about 1/2 of the pins are bent but be sure they're uniformly bent. If there's a spot where it looks like something bumped the socket and bent the pins, that could be a problem. Also, I didn't realize most of the software on the CD is bloatware. Some are neat tools but you really only need the drivers and possibly the extreme tuning utility. The other stuff just runs lots of background processes and hogs resources.

fatal flaw?

Rosewill RHTS-12007 Canal High Fidelity Passive Noise Isolating Earbuds
Rosewill RHTS-12007 Canal High Fidelity Passive Noise Isolating Earbuds

Pros: Seem to be fairly high build quality, sounds decent for cheap ear buds.

Cons: cloth-like wire wrap rubs on the face and the scratchy sound translates into the ear buds.

Overall Review: I got these free with a purchase and at first was pleasantly surprised at how nice they looked. They seem well made. But when I used them to listen to music on the fitness bike I noticed that any slight movement I made caused the wires to rub against my ears/face and which produces a loud sound you can easily hear. If you sit very still it should be no problem, but I use ear buds while working out so these aren't for me. The rubbing sound is too irritating. There's a reason most earbuds use soft rubber coated wires.
