G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL8Q-16GBZH
G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL8Q-16GBZH

Pros: Runs at advertised speeds, posted with no issues to specified levels. Will probably look to run a RAM disk as I ordered two kits for 32GB of RAM. This is my first G. Skill RAM and so far I have been very impressed

Cons: None so far, will update should they arise.

FIRE!! FIRE!!

GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Board looked clean, I've always had good success with Gigabyte boards before.

Cons: After roughly 10 minutes of operation. boot up and initial install. Noticed smoke from case. Opened up, back of board on fire, not smoking but on fire.

Overall Review: Newegg was amazing as always and board has already been returned and refunded, with new board on the way.

Excellent as Expected

Intel Core i7-4770K - Core i7 4th Gen Haswell Quad-Core 3.5 GHz LGA 1150 84W Intel HD Graphics Desktop Processor - BX80646I74770K
Intel Core i7-4770K - Core i7 4th Gen Haswell Quad-Core 3.5 GHz LGA 1150 84W Intel HD Graphics Desktop Processor - BX80646I74770K

Pros: Overclocks well. Not quite as good as Sandy or Ivy but more than sufficient. Running 4.5GHz stable @ 1.215V. Highest temp I've seen on a custom water loop is 65 C. Much better than anticipated.

Cons: None so far. Will update if needed.

EVGA 02G-P4-2685-KR GeForce GTX 680 SC Signature+ w/Backplate 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Pros: Runs every game I have played at Max settings at 1080p. Have had no problems whatsoever. Will probably look to watercool and sli. Not needed, but computers are our race cars we make them faster because we can.

Cons: Hard to find second card in backplate version. Of course I could just stop being lazy and put one of myself. Ok I'm lazy.

Why Get Anything Else

Intel Core i7-3930K - Core i7 3rd Gen Sandy Bridge-E 6-Core 3.2GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 2011 130W Desktop Processor - BX80619i73930K

Pros: Unless you are needing an incredibly large amount of rendering done this is the best chip you can get. There is absolutely no reason to go with the $1000 version of this chip. The only way to go better is an 8-core Xeon, but then is it worth $1500 more for two cores? Chip has overclocked beautifully up to 4.63 and no issues w/ 24 hr prime95 torture test. Paired with Corsair H100 the highest I can get the temp is 68 degrees. Overall couldn't be happier with my purchase.

Cons: None so far, will update if needed

Great so Far

OCZ Vertex 4 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) VTX4-25SAT3-128G
OCZ Vertex 4 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) VTX4-25SAT3-128G

Pros: Easy Install. Fast performance, working great with a pair in RAID 0.

Cons: Not a big jump from the Vertex 3 it replaced. Thought the higher rating IOPS would make a difference, but very little increase in performance.
