shuttle gaming rig

Pros: Compact sff form factor 500w power supply Standard ITX form factor Room for full size video card
Cons: OC capability limited, no undervolt, no cas timing control, better oc controls needed. Don't like the ODD bay cover button, but it works. First unit had to be RMA'd.
Overall Review: Replacing the ICE cooler with an Asetek 545LC liquid cooler, and doing a bios mod, I am able to run at my 2600k @ 4.6ghz with an R7970 Video card and game like a madman. 6+ months of use, and never a hiccup or an over heat. My mem is 1600 CL8, the shuttle runs it at 1600 CL11 with bios 104. Later bios supports new cpus.
cheapness abounds

Pros: Cheap price. Solid frame. Dual rear 80mm exhaust. 4x Fansx included. Good airflow with front 120mm intakes.
Cons: Cheap design. Cheap fans. The drive trays are complete trash. Even after I figured them out, after a few swap arounds they just fell apart, which pretty much makes the case unusable for me. Don't even think about shipping this with hd's mounted.
Overall Review: I had the Norco RPC-450 before his, almost the exact same case, except the Norco held 10 HDs (5 in each) but at least the drive mounting was more plausible (plastic rails mounted to HDs). So I swapped the bay cages over from the Norco to the Rosewill. So now I am only dissapointed that I didn't just spend 200-300 on a great case, rather than mess with this junk for almost a year. This is for my Windows home server.
darn good little HSF

Pros: Small enough to fit neatly into my Thermaltake LanBoxLite. Solid build quality. Kept my q9400 and now my q9550s cool, even at load it's still dang near silent.
Cons: It's been over a year, but I seem to remember the instructions and the install were a bit of a pain.
Overall Review: I thought my build would be fine with a stock intel cooler, and it wasn't bad, but after the build I did not think it was cooling sufficiently, so I swapped this one in. Idle temps are 5c cooler, even at max rpm under 100% load the fan is just a low whir. I had all these temps and stats at the time, but I usually wait until I have something for a year to review it, and then I forget all that stuf, d'oh! If you need something for a cramped space, you will not be dissapointed.
Stop the MIR BeeSss!

Pros: Good sale on this drive @ 199. Would have been a great sale at an honest 169.
Cons: These MIR offers are just complete BeeSss, especially with OCZ. They want a chunk of your rebate to process it 'express' or to send a check for cash, reducing the rebate amount to 'worthless'. Or they make you wait an insane amount of time, only to get a lame prepaid card, that is worthless just about anywhere. Also they have a zillion loopholes to not send at all. LISTEN UP OCZ: If these had been put up as an HONEST $169, I would have bought 2 or possibly 4 of these today. As such, you sold just one to me. DO THE MATH!
Overall Review: Don't let the rebates sway you, it is the manufacturers and retailers flaunting how stupid they think you are. If you wouldn't buy it without the rebate, don't buy it.
just right

Pros: DirextX-11, 1GigDDR5, Slight OC, Quiet, not a footlong. Upgraded from 8800 Ultra, at DX10 moderate performance increase, but more importantly much less power and cooling required, and way, way quieter. Being this quiet and efficient, I don't see how I cannot eventually by another and go xfire. Price alert set to 150 w/free shipping, nudge, nudge!
Cons: With the 5830's coming out these may get sidelined, but I don't have any comparison data yet. No OC other than what comes from the factory, but if you do your homework, you know that before you buy it. Does not directly evacuate the exhaust, so you need to have a well designed case or air flow plan. That being said, the cooler works exceptionally well.
Overall Review: On my machine we are running DDO, WoW and LOTRO. All running smoothly on very-ultra high settings @ 1920x1200. 60ish FPS in DDO. With my current setup (see below) the most I can work the temp up to is 42c, that is off a sensor lead attached to the heatsink on the video card, underneath the fan, as close to GPU as I can get. Normal gaming its like 37c. Card is near silent at idle, just a low woosh at load. First Lian Li

Pros: Light, so light I almost expected it to flex, but it did not. Well thought out for most builds. Flexible, adaptable for most other builds. PSU on the bottom a must. Able to route cables from PSU (and others) behind mobo, including the aux Mobo power, big plus. Cooled sufficiently on air with the stock two fans, big surprise, see other thoughts. Lots of 5.25" external bays. Many OEM options to upgrade, modify as needed for cooling, etc. 8 slots for expansion cards, nice for slot coolers. Oh! it would be no problemo to put one of those big (long) new power supplies in here, all kind of room! Power Supply sucks air right from the bottom, very nice! There is a screen mesh on the bottom too, pics dont show it.
Cons: No vent over expansion card area, would have been nice. Blue LED on the front fan, personal preference. They need to start thinking about 2.5" drive integration. Isolation of the PSU area is a good idea, but a wash as it makes installs harder.
Overall Review: Been gong with Antec cases for a while, now that the Lian Li's are a lot better price wise, this was an excellent switch. I was able to cool everything with the two stock fans to satisfaction, but did ad a Scythe Kama-Bay to my extra 3x5.25" bays. At 100% load stock, 96f cpu 110f video. With kama-bay 85f cpu 98f video. And it is soooo quiet, you hear almost zip until the video card fan kicks in at load, even then just a nice quiet wooosh. Setup: Lian Li PC-7FN case ThermalTake TR2 750M PSU Gigabyte GA-EP45-DQ6 MoBo Intel Q9400 (OC to 3.2 ghz) Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro cpu cooler 4x 2gb Kingston HyperX DDR2-800 CL5 Sapphire VaporX HD5770 Video Card LG Super-Multi DVD/CD R/W Ultra MD3 Dashboard multi-use bay device Scythe kama-bay 120mm intake fan bay adapter. 2x WD 300gb velociraptors (raid 1) I reconstituted most of the parts from several systems, and added a new case and video card (on a budget), and ended up with a nice quiet system, with enough power to power g
