Well made and works in seconds

SABRENT USB 3.2 Type-C Tool-Free Enclosure for M.2 PCIe NVMe and SATA SSDs (EC-SNVE)
SABRENT USB 3.2 Type-C Tool-Free Enclosure for M.2 PCIe NVMe and SATA SSDs (EC-SNVE)

Pros: It is well made, my M.2 SSD fit in it in seconds. It really is tool-free. It has an aluminum cover for heat dissipation. Installing one sized SSD will not prevent you from swapping it out for another later.

Cons: It could use a fan; it gets HOT.

Overall Review: I would absolutely recommend this. I had purchased a different one earlier and the M.2 SSD did not fit in it, and it would not work. This one was more expensive, but well worth it.

whines

35mm 10mm New Case Fan 12V DC 7CFM 4 Screws 3pin Fluid Brgs PC CPU Cooling 798a*

Pros: 35mm fans are hard to find, but I needed one. It had the proper number of pins (3) to replace the fan I had before, whereas most small fans came with 2 and need an adapter.

Cons: Makes an intermittent but noticeable high pitched whining noise. My wife thought something was ringing in the distance. It's not as loud as the death rattle of the fan it replaced, but if all fans were this loud it would be unbearable.

Overall Review: It's not worth sending it back, but I'm definitely going to shop from another manufacturer next time.

works great

Team Group MP33 PRO M.2 2280 1TB PCIe 3.0 x4 with NVMe 1.3 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) TM8FPD001T0C101
Team Group MP33 PRO M.2 2280 1TB PCIe 3.0 x4 with NVMe 1.3 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) TM8FPD001T0C101

Pros: I use this in an external enclosure to back up my laptop, which has an identical SSD in it. I was able to clone the internal one to the external and boot to it, so now I don't have to worry about data loss.

Overall Review: I would definitely recommend this, but if you use it to clone a laptop drive, it is best to find the model number and match it exactly to avoid using a drive that is just slightly too small.

Pros: I can't take off any eggs because I honestly don't know if these work or how well, but I've always had good luck on newegg, so I am assuming that they would work great if I could hook them up.

Cons: Turns out there are multiple kinds of 3 wire connectors. Mine is a larger kind with the 3 wires spaced further apart, so I couldn't use it. I have an ASUS Sabertooth Z87, and ended up getting what I needed off a some auction site whose name I apparently cannot use in a review, but it rhymes with DJ. That listing that specifically mentioned my motherboard, and that part worked.

Overall Review: Definitely get a closeup of what you're buying when it comes to fans and make sure it matches what you're replacing.

Perfect

ASUS TUF SABERTOOTH Z87 LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS TUF SABERTOOTH Z87 LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Robust: I ordered this six years ago, and this is the first time I've had to think about replacing an onboard 35mm fan. It's rattling and sounding like it has laryngitis. I've got a Lian-Li case that's even older, so heat synching is definitelying a pro. Performance: this motherboard has outperformed everything I've had at the office for years (and I'm in IT so I usually get what I need). At work we're an HP shop, with the occasional Microsoft Surface Pro tablet mixed in. Every one has given me the BSOD almost weekly when I browse to videos in various browsers or even just use Adobe Acrobat Pro. On my home machine, nothing, I get BSOD about twice a year, tops. Granted, I have to flatten and reinstall Windows 10 about every major feature upgrade because drivers break with upgrade, but that's on Microsoft, because once the rebuild is done, it's stable, everything works again. Compatibility: I definitely like the onboard USB 3.0 port. I've installed a card reader that reads USB 3.0, SD, microSD, Sony xdCard, PCMCIA, just about everything, and it just works without drivers. No worries about getting data off various videocameras and legacy digital cameras.

Cons: None to speak of. Haven't seen a firmware update in a while, that's about it.

Overall Review: This thing is rock solid. Best purchase from NewEgg I've ever made. I had to install the CPU and heat transfer pase and fan myself, which was a pain, but honestly it was worth the trouble. That was about three evenings of trial and error six years ago, and since then it's outperformed everything I've ever used, including computers that were newer by five years. I've got about 10GB of storage in four drives on it, 1 SSD, 3 HDD, and I've never seen an I/O bottleneck the way I used to even on SAN/NAS banks.

just works

ORICO USB3.0 to SATA3.0 Dual Bay External Hard Drive Docking Station for 2.5 & 3.5 In. HDD, SSD with Hard Drive Duplicator/Clone Function [Support 2 x 6TB HDD Not including HDD] - Black 6629S3
ORICO USB3.0 to SATA3.0 Dual Bay External Hard Drive Docking Station for 2.5 & 3.5 In. HDD, SSD with Hard Drive Duplicator/Clone Function [Support 2 x 6TB HDD Not including HDD] - Black 6629S3

Pros: Has two bays so it can be used to clone drives (unattached to a PC even), comes with a USB 3 cable, seems fast.

Cons: None I've seen.

Overall Review: I've used it to back up my machine and to clone a number of HDD's onto SSD's over the past couple of years when upgrading machines to SSD as a primary Windows drive. It's a cheaper alternative to buying multiple external HDD's and faster than backing up to tapes.
