Thermaltake Chaser Series Chaser MK-I (VN300M1W2N) Black SECC ATX Full Tower Computer Case ATX PS2 Power Supply
  • neweggOwned For: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Everything BUT the drive dock. Roomy for my SLI setup and more drives than I have installed at the moment. I like the fact that I can easily add water cooling when I'm ready. The internal lighting is a nice feature..I could do without the light blue bay accents though, perhaps I will paint them at a later time.

Cons: The X-Dock does not work like an external Thermaltake X-Dock...the drive needs to be in the dock at boot or you won't see it. This really makes me mad as one of the main reason for getting this case was the add help this would be in letting me ditch my external dock. Now I have to restart my whole system to access a drive which is essentially a USB drive. Grrr! So I docked it 1 egg.

Pros: Got this drive as a shell shocker to replace a SATAII OCZ 60GB SSD because I was running out of space! I'm quite happy with the performance so far with my Win 7 build.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Nice shell shocker

ASRock AD2550B-ITX Intel Dual-Core Atom D2550 1.86 GHz Intel NM10 Mini ITX Motherboard/CPU/VGA Combo

Pros: ITX system that seems capable enough for most task. I have tried both Ubuntu and Windows 7 on this motherboard. Ubuntu took forever to install for some reason and ran a bit slow while the Windows 7 install went quite quickly and runs a lot faster.

Cons: I can't get the audio drivers for Win 7 (32bit) SP1 to work for nothing! I have tried reinstalling serveral times, but even though device manager shows no issues, control panel shows no audio devices installed. I have tried the included DVD, Asrock's site drivers, even VIA's VT1705 joy! In fact, unless I use the MS driver, I get an error msg that says the driver couldn't be installed. I don't recall having this issue with Ubuntu, but I'm NOT reinstall Ubuntu again to find out. I like Ubuntu but with this board it took serveral hours to get it installed. (Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, 12.10, 13.10)

Other Thoughts: I attempted to search the Asrock forums but that seems like a joke, the forums ARE NOT HOSTED by Asrock. Why that decision was made I can't imagine, but it doesn't work out very well for the end users.
