Still working

Seagate BarraCuda 7200.12 ST31000528AS 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: 2 of them still working in a RAID 0 nearly a year later

Cons: Nothing

Overall Review: I run 2 of these in a RAID 0 configuration, and now almost a year later they seem to have the same performance and be just as reliable. I would buy again - except I would go bigger next time!

SLOW WRITES

Transcend 16GB Secure Digital High-Capacity (SDHC) Flash Card Model TS16GSDHC10
Transcend 16GB Secure Digital High-Capacity (SDHC) Flash Card Model TS16GSDHC10

Pros: Price and Capacity

Cons: SLOW writes and mediocre reads.

Overall Review: Could have bought another class 6 for less and had similar if not better performance. Realistic read/writes (transferring mp3 files) for me showed my class 6 Transcend SD card writes at 9.1MB/Sec while this Class 10 card one writes at 7.7MB/Sec. For read speeds the class 10 beats the class 6 by 4-6MB/Sec. For cameras the write speed is most important, (since MP3's are similar in size to photos), and this card fails over its older version.

Useless IMO.

Corsair Accelerator Series 2.5" 45GB SATA II Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CSSD-C45GB
Corsair Accelerator Series 2.5" 45GB SATA II Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CSSD-C45GB

Pros: The product presents a good idea, just poorly implemented.

Cons: I installed this which is easy, installed the dataplex software and upon rebooting I get an error popping up which belongs to the software. "It appears that the service component of DataPlex has failed." Reinstalled several times with no luck. The data plex software does say the service is running - so it must be right? Well? I cannot tell.. nothing is faster, and this is more than 2 months later. Photoshop still takes forever to open the first time, as does sony vegas and ableton live. Also, since installing I have suddenly had some random 100% freezes where out of nowhere the entire system stops, no mouse, nothing frozen picture. I now have to reset and the dataplex software now has to reconfigure the drives at boot.. which only takes 1 minute (another reason I think it isnt working b/c people say it takes a lot longer.

Overall Review: Before installing this I had 2x1TB in RAID 0 which I wanted to be snappier - snappier like the 3 other computers I use with SSDs as their main drive. This doesnt do much... its not the same.. invest in a real SSD. Upon contacting the company 2 months ago I never had a response (and yes I checked my spam folder). This device just seems like another good way to ensure my data is lost when one of my 3 drives goes bad..

Bad Already

G.SKILL 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Laptop Memory Model F3-8500CL7D-8GBSQ
G.SKILL 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Laptop Memory Model F3-8500CL7D-8GBSQ

Pros: Value

Cons: Doesnt last

Overall Review: Ive had blue screen every week for about 3 months now, and just last night it made me mad enough to try and figure out the problem. I ran Memtest86+ and sure enough the memory failed instantly. Mine was bought at the end of February, 2011 and has probably been bad since the day I bought it.

Good system

Pros: Price, features

Cons: Performance, reliability.

Overall Review: This thing is mounted in an old apex dvd player customized with fan ports on the bottom for good airflow. I have since I bought it been getting random shutoff/restarts. I have since replaced the memory, and HDD - (upgraded to 4GB and a SSD). This thing is fast, but it still have occasional restarts during video playback. I have monitored the internal temp sensors during video playback and the thing stays cool. This machine fails at ANY streaming HD video. Even with the Ion/CUDA it cannot handle it. Netflix needs HD turned off or it is a constant slideshow. Youtube in HD 720p is playable, but 1080 gets choppy at times of heavy movement. Even playing video off a TV tuner in SD takes nearly all the CPU has and can get choppy. I have it overclocked to 2Ghz and made sure to give it the max available video memory. If I could do it again, I would love to have DDR3 version running a 2.4ghz dual core Atom.... so I will wait for that to exist.

Good card

Pros: Performance

Cons: None

Overall Review: I bought 2 of these, one from BBY, and one from here. THe one from BBY died after 2 months so I exchanged it out. In the 6+ months since both cards have worked great in SLi
