Works well but NOISY
Pros: I was able to make a really clean looking installation with its modular design, and it powers 2 monster 7970's, 8 fans, i7 3770k @4.5Ghz just fine.
Cons: I thought the name of it was *SILENT* pro? The fan surges to max power during gaming in odd intervals and it is LOUD. It vibrates my desktop and PSU is mounted on rubber bushings built into the HAF-X full tower case. I can actually hear it at times with my headphones on while playing BF3 at fairly high volume. Ya, that loud. I removed one egg for this.
Overall Review: If they spent the money to use such quality cable and construction, why not spend the extra dollar or two and put real 9 blade fans in these that actually would be silent?
wow amd fanboys
Pros: First off, I got sucked into the whole 8core AMD release and purchased one of the turddozer processors. I overclocked it to 5.4Ghz on a very well put together Water cooling system. Let me break it down for you. My i7-940xm in my laptop beat the turddozer in benchmarks. Now let's talk games. The AMD turddozer under load in graphic intensive games on Ultra like Crysis and BF3 would choke down to 25 frames during high physics sections and bottleneck my dual HD 7970 Vapor-x cards to no end. Here is the truth. Comparing the i7-3960x to the AMD FX 8 core chips is like putting a 7 thousand horsepower dragster next to a Honda civic with a fart muffler. The AMD shouldn't even have been released it's a terrible chip.
Cons: The price.
Overall Review: I'm not an intel or AMD fanboy. I am a fan of high quality electronics that work as good or better than advertised.
Wow
Pros: This was my first AMD build. Went with this chip on a whim and I am blown away as the add stated I would be. Now instead of my CPU bottlenecking on benchmarks my GTX 560 ti special edition is bottlenecking :| oh well time for a 600 series card lol Went with the ASUS crosshair V Formula board and 16gb G. Skill RAM. This thing is still half way asleep playing BF3 on ULTRA at 55-60 fps at stock clock speeds CPU/GPU.
Cons: Now my games are even more addicting and I wanna bail on responsibilty and play them all day?
Overall Review: Buy it...
