Acer G257HU smidpx 25
  • Verified Owner
  • neweggOwned For: 1 week to 1 month

Pros: -IPS
-One of the cheaper monitors at this price range
-Able to run at 85hz stable via DP

Have been wanting to upgrade from 1080p for some time now, 1440p seems to be the sweet spot for single or multi GPU configs at the moment as 2160p is a bit more taxing to obtain a constant 60fps.

Much rather max out 1440p at 85fps/85hz over getting 30-45fps on a 60hz 2160p display.

The IPS display is loads more colorful than a TN display and in comparison would say that a TN display does indeed look faded or washed out. I'm not too picky on color accuracy so I don't know how true the color is.

No light bleed as some other reviewers have mentioned on some monitors with same specs.

No dead pixels.

The base itself though not as adjustable as some might like is in my opinion pretty solid.

Cons: The built in speakers are horrid. I advise against using it, I don't know what word to use the describe the build in speakers other than horrid.

Not much of a con for me but might be for some, the stand doesn't adjust height wise and viewing angle adjustment feels kind of flimsy.

Other Thoughts: Would definitely buy again. Never bought or used an Acer monitor before but very pleased with the product.

5 out of 5 eggs Pretty awesome 02/15/2014

This review is from: CyberPower CSHT1208TNC2G 8 Feet 12 Outlets 4350 joule Surge Suppressor

Pros: Eco mode for those who want it

4350 joules rating

Fairly priced.

Covers for ports that are not used

12 ports

Cons: Feels a little light

Other Thoughts: I don't really know much about surge suppressors but I know at this price range and for what features are offered this one can't be beat.

Noctua NH-U14S 140mm SSO2-Bearing (Self-stabilising oil-presure bearing) CPU Cooler

5 out of 5 eggs Impressive but needed to RMA 01/19/2014

This review is from: Noctua NH-U14S 140mm SSO2-Bearing (Self-stabilising oil-presure bearing) CPU Cooler

Pros: Slimmer tower cooler
6 Year warranty
Comes with Noctua thermal paste
Good solder work
Neat packing will all the accessories in individual boxes
Fan comes with rubbers to reduce vibration.

I did not install cooler so I can't say that it cools well

Cons: Cooler was heavy. I knew that the cooler was suppose to be a heavier cooler but I didn't realize how heavy. Due to my motherboard being horizontally mounted, I am fearful of motherboard warping over time so I decided to RMA this cooler and get the smaller version NH-U12S

Some motherboards will also have issues with first RAM slot and sometimes first PCI-E slot. Noctua's site has a compatibility chart if a buyer is unsure of compatibility.

Other Thoughts: I have never tired a Noctua product until now and after seeing their quality and attention to detail in the future I would definitely buy Noctua again.
