Excellent Case
Pros: - Plenty of room - Can fit larger water cooling solutions - Plenty of internal drive bays
Cons: - Cheap fans
Overall Review: Anyone giving this case a poor rating based on its size should be slapped. The dimensions are clearly listed in the item description. Don't knock the product for your inability to research before you purchase. I personally love the size. You will have zero issues installing any video card and it will hold literally any ATX PSU you might need for an ITX build. It's well built, looks very nice, and cools well. As I mentioned, the included fans are rather "meh" and I had to replace them due to clicking after a short time but most folks get third party fans anyway. I've also purchased the NZXT Sentry Mesh Fan Controller w/ Five 30 watts Channels which looks like it came factory with the case. It's a perfect match. In summary, YES it's big for ITX but read the item description before you get all whiny about the size. Yes it's a nice case overall and well worth the average asking price.
Might be a lemon
Pros: Cheap 4 Ports RAID
Cons: I've had a lot of issues with this card. I've got 4 1TB drives, 2 RAID 1 sets, and the first thing I will say is that the rebuild times are just rediculous. Just over 48hrs. for each set. The other problem I've been having is that the sets are taking turns crapping out resulting in a rebuild which as I've said takes over 48hrs. If I use the card as nothing more than additional SATA ports it seems to work O.K. Right now since the RAID is completely unusable I've resorted to creating synchronizing jobs in the early morning hours to keep my data backed up across 2 drives.
Overall Review: I don't know if the issues I'm having are related to poor drivers or just a compatability issue with my machine but something here just isn't right. Specs below... Windows Server 2003 Intel Pentium D 2.66Ghz Gigabyte GA-8VM800M-775 2GB RAM WDC WD1001FALS-00J7B1 x 2 ST31000528AS x 2 160GB SATA x 2 using onboard motherboard RAID (this one has never failed BTW)
Rosewill Does It Again
Pros: -Sturdy build quality -Relatively inexpensive -Easy on the eyes I rely on Rosewill a lot from everyday PC needs to higher end gaming builds and rarely am I disappointed.
Cons: None worth noting
Overall Review: I don't want to call this a con but it can be a bit cramped. It is an ITX case though so you really cannot complain about this and certainly cannot dock an egg.
Works for me
Pros: Works great for JungleFlasher.
Cons: Little spendy for what it is IMO but definitely not expensive.
Overall Review: If you are buying this for JF like I did, make sure you follow the instruction in the JF manual or it will not work for you. ReadTheFlippinManual people.
Speed Demon
Pros: Crazy fast by themselves and OMGUBER fast in RAID0. Price was sick when I purchased.
Cons: *insert obligatory doesn't cook me stuff comment"
Overall Review: Prior to using these, snag the Linux update ISO from OCZ's website. This will update the firmware and after that, you're good to go.
RAID5 RE-REVIEW
Pros: - Works great with RAID5 (SOFT) firmware from Silicon Image website - Easy configuration
Cons: - RAID5 software from Silicon Image is fugly and not laid out well (you have to drill down a menu or two in order to see drive health) - Transfer times are still low - Firmware upgrades had to be done to gain RAID5 and stability
Overall Review: A few months back I had this setup with two mirrored sets and had nothing but trouble from the word go. You can find my review on this done the line. I've since grabbed the RAID5 firmware, driver, and software from Silicon Image, search for SI-3114 on their site, and my results are much better. I now have four 2TB 5900RPM drives running in RAID5 and have had ZERO issues. After the firmware update, reboot, driver update, reboot and software install everything was working great. Since the drives are 5900RPM and technically this RAID5 is a software RAID, the transfer times are not very good but honestly I think that is to be expected with this type of setup. Besides, this is all BACKUP space. Nothing that is constantly accessed except some music.
