Electrical Good, Mechanical Bad
Pros: Solid Electrical design, This unit Does PWM control of the fan power. The correct way to do it. So far very reliable and very good adjustment of my two fans under it's control. 1)Vantec VP4-C7040 2)Industrial Computing High CFM 120mm fan. Instructions say not to use with a speed controlled fan such as the Vantec VP4-C7040, only with constant speed fans. It actually works just fine with this unit. Vantec VP4-C7040 is a CPU fan that I wasn't using, so I removed it from its block and decided to use as a memory cooler fan. The 120mm Fan in front of my hard drives only gets turned up when ripping or encoding or running BF2 or other CPU/GPU intense games. Yes it is true the fans never turn off, but at min setting they are barely audible. People say it only decreases voltage to 7V and not turn off. This is not true. This is a PWM controller, and a DMM will indicate the average voltage to the controlled fan. Duty cycle will never go to 0% so it will run just above stall speed.
Cons: Case is very weak mechanically. 12V power connector flimsy and doesn't line up well. Case edges are very sharp - I cut my finger pretty bad while installing! Knobs are fragile! If you can get past that stuff, once installed it works great.
Overall Review: Blue Led Lighting matches my Antec Blue LED's exactly. Looks great!
What about Vista x64
Pros: I am impressed with parts list.
Cons: Vista x64 support?
Overall Review: Anybody know if this can be upgraded to use Vista 64 bit? I would buy it now if I knew it could be Vista 64
