Pros: Improvement over xp and vista. customer test driven features. Improvements are subtle for most people, but very important for me. Driver updates are way easier now. In a pinch even old drivers for xp or 2000 function on 7 with compatibility wizard. windows 7 own driver install can be pointed to the 'inf' files because some of those old install.exe will not function.

Cons: Hours of download, install from internet: service pack updates at end of august 2011. restart several times. old file manager is gone. new help search rarely find any thing I am looking for. will not find things like all *.jpg files. wild card searches do not function. They did work in the old windows. navigating through files and folders for specific files is a night mare. moving customers data requires installing 3rd party file manager like directory opus.

Overall Review: It was hard for me to get used to the new menus. even harder now that 7 does not allow desktop short cuts for many tools. Microsoft is missing a reasonable good file manager. -I ran hardware upgrade advisor on 650mhz 'slot A' processor with 768 megabytes ram. Reported: might run slow. 7 up and running ok. only 1 minor update would not install. Took all day, but it did work. oem cost less but you are on your own for all help. retail allows free help call install and drivers.

Pros: follow up from early review vista64. 10feb2009. win7beta 64 does install and function. some errors in device manager. not a big deal. standard vgagraphics adapter functions1920x1200, but not perfect. original vista64 updates were hours of dl and installing. win7 30 min update easy. dual boot. really like win7 a lot.

Cons: not working in device manager/ other devices: coprocessor, sm bus controller. computer seems to work fine. nvidia geforce9400 prerelease wddm1.1 56.2MB failed to install. as mentioned earlier review. chipset requires tiny fan less than 2 inch (50mm). 3 wire.

Overall Review: how do i install a single driver or 2 from a unified driver package ? need drivers. I zip tied a 60mm fan on chipset. heat siink does have screw holes. 45nm 8400 intel cpu runs cold.

Pros: takes faster low price ddr2 ram. latest chipset. very fast. asrock makes a similar board with better cpu support. functions with old 20 or 24 pin power supply. supports standard power, reset switches and lights. -my case did not. bought front wiring from auction site and soldered and hot glued it. good for environment keeps old case away from trash or landfill.

Cons: does not support lot of p4 processors. old ram ddr1 does not fit. some times bios updates are limited.

Overall Review: runs win7 99.99% great. win speed test fails. no errors in device manager. make sure your cpu is supported on web site of biostar. my similar cpu does not function. not on cpu support bios list. I am very pleased with this board. suggestion buy copper heat sink fan pipe with 80mm or larger fan. old p4 fans scream. quiet thermaltake tr2-m12. it also cools chipset.

Pros: Small, Easy to operate. Connected center channel speaker for voices on movies playing from laptop and projector. Plenty loud enough for room of 100 people. For small do it yourself audio system. No static or hum noticeable. Lowest price, simple, budget, amplifier I could find. Blows away the laptop speakers.

Cons: Wish it came with a water tight carry box to keep out rain. Input audio wire not included.

Overall Review: It is almost portable. A carry case with speakers would make it perfect for low budget travel. Pyle makes several models all same size but slightly different input, knobs, watts. Small amount of skills required to connect it all up. Simple instructions paper included. I have model PTA2.

Pros: This will allow me to replace a dvi-i cable and analog adapter. my monitor does not have the 4 pin near the blade, but it does have 15 pin vga. because my 24 inch 1920 x 1200 is a very hi resolution, it needs a hi integrity cable. The 15 pin cables i have show ghosting overlapping shadows. my computer does not have a 15 pin output unless I use the 15 pin adapter on the computer, but the picture looks bad.

Cons: I do not own it yet. The 2nd cable I have does work; but this allows me to drop all the adapters. Cons? Left over old parts. Wish they had this cable couple years ago when I had to order the missing cable. The short dvi to vga cable adapter is likely the source of the ghosting overlapping image. The dvi-i analog cable I am using improved picture a lot, but not perfect.

Overall Review: All dvi cables are designed to cary a higher bandwidth resolution with analog 15 rgb plug. I require this cable to plug in 2 computers to the same single monitor, or a double wide desktop with 2 monitors -digital and analog crt. dvi plug on the computer puts out both digital and analog. my computer has (analog or digital dvi), (digital hdmi), plugs. no 15 pin plug on my computer. I wish to drop the source computer dvi to 15 pin lcd adapter. mother board is dfi lanparty jr gf9400 t2rs. Over time I updated everything. 1) drivers [over a dozen updates], 1b)lcd flash update, 1c)motherboard video chip flash update, 2)cabeling wire source computer hdmi to dvi lcd, 3a)source dvi to 15 pin [the second monitor crt.], 3b)[the cable I am ordering now] After all this, windows 7 still gets random stuck frozen on the color spinning circles startup requiring a hard reset. All updates installed: hardware, software, flash, windows. Am I a glutton for punishment or what ? possibly the guini pig king.

Pros: less heat and runs cool in small case, quiet, faster than many older drives (2 yrs old).

Cons: tiny delay some times when waking up from low power state. to save money manufactures cut warranty to Made on Date. warranty can expire sitting in ware house. paid more at retail store. some times drives require to be blanked out with all zeros to format and operate. western digital used to require this years ago. I even fixed stuck clanking drives this way.

Overall Review: windows 7 and other have lots of power state software issues. both bios, windows, drivers, and drive software all change environmental conditions and speeds performance. please adjust settings and down load NEW software if needed. bios, chipset drivers, windows updates, firmware of drive etc. as with optical drives, large cache can delay read write because drive waits until speed up or fully awake. adjust above as needed. support software, hardware is still playing catch up. bought from retail store not exact model, but is 500 green western digital.
