AMD Phenom 9600 Agena 2.3GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 2MB L3 Cache Socket AM2+ 95W Quad-Core Processor

Pros: Low price, powerful, very stable, high quality heatsink and fan

Cons: None so far

Overall Review: So far this has proven to be an excellent CPU. Although I am running a 32-Bit OS at the moment, I did try testing a few 64-bit OSs and never once came across any TBL errors/BSODs.

Most Critical Review

Doesn't fit in some toolless cases

Vantec USB 2.0 58-In-1 Internal Card Reader/Writer with Built-In USB Port for 3.5" or 5.25" Drive Bay - Model UGT-CR905
Vantec USB 2.0 58-In-1 Internal Card Reader/Writer with Built-In USB Port for 3.5" or 5.25" Drive Bay - Model UGT-CR905

Pros: n/a

Cons: I bought this because of the included 5.25" bay adapter, as my Antec P280 does not have any external 3.5" drive bays. However, I quickly learned that it would not actually fit in my P280, as the adapter is too short, which can cause cause the toolless drive latch to not engage.

Overall Review: While I can't fault this product for being incompatible with Antec's cases, anyone who uses a tool-less case, especially the Antec P280 and cases with similar toolless systems should be cautious when purchasing this, as it may not actually fit.

Wonderful quality, yet difficult to find a place for

Canon PIXMA iX6520 (4895B002) Black / ESAT: Approx. 11.3 ipm Black Print Speed 9600 x 2400 dpi Color Print Quality USB InkJet Corporate & Graphics Art Color Printer
Canon PIXMA iX6520 (4895B002) Black / ESAT: Approx. 11.3 ipm Black Print Speed 9600 x 2400 dpi Color Print Quality USB InkJet Corporate & Graphics Art Color Printer

Pros: Great print quality; affordable for an 11x17 printer

Cons: Relatively low ink capacity; gigantic; no networking

Overall Review: I got this as I wanted to create large-format prints of some of my digital photographs and digital drawings, and the print quality was surprisingly high for the price. However, like most 11x17 printers, this thing is huge, and takes up a large amount of desk space. It's size, combined with it being a USB-only printer (no WiFi/ethernet) makes it very inconvenient trying to find a place to put it.

CORSAIR HX series HX650 650 W ATX12V v2.2 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Modular, long cable length

Cons: Extremely annoying chirping noise

Overall Review: This PSU is great for those who are into cable management, due to both its modular connections and long cable length. However, as many other reviews have stated, this PSU makes an annoying chirping noise whenever the fan speed changes. For the price I paid for this PSU, that is not acceptable, especially when I designed my computer to be quiet.

Deceptive Outputs

EVGA 01G-P3-1556-KR GeForce GTX 550 Ti (Fermi) FPB 1GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Pros: Very good performance for the price, quiet fan, runs cool.

Cons: Description fails to note that it only supports two displays at a time.

Overall Review: I purchased this monitor because it had two DVI outputs and a Mini-HDMI output. This was perfect, because I had two monitors currently, and when I purchased this, I already had plans to purchase a third monitor shortly in the future. I finally got my third monitor, but upon installing it, the nVidia control panel alerted me that the card only supports outputting a display to two monitors at a time. That information is not noted anywhere on the product page on either Newegg or EVGA's site, yet that would've been a very handy piece of information to have. I believe that it's reasonable to assume that three outputs = three monitors. If that's not the case, that really needs to be noted somewhere prominently. The card is working as designed, but because of this lack of information, it's not working as expected.

First one failed

ASUS GeForce 8400 GS 512MB GDDR2 PCI Express x16 Graphics Card EN8400GS SILENT/HTP/512M

Pros: Cheap, quiet

Cons: Failed within two weeks

Overall Review: I owned my first card for less than two weeks and than it went out on me. Whenever I would load any application that used 3D graphics or video, the computer would completely crash. I had to do an RMA replacement to get a new one. So far the second one has been working much better, but I was still disappointed.
